Multiplayer RPG Tech Demo
Now Updated!!

http://i4.lbp.me/img/ft/084542354f24865565ddba7e1cc74ccf78b0aaa7.jpgAdded extra logic for extra awesome.

Here is folks, the RPG you've all been waiting for, Final Fantasy XV.

well not really, instead you sack folk get a proof of concept for my RPG tech bots. Now with improved multiplayer for offline and online play(online recommended). For you to explore a not so vast area with your friends. For offline, if a person dies off screen, grab the checkpoint to reset all players spawns to that point.

Featuring:

Dynamic Weather and lighting. As it changes from night to day, there will be 7 variations of rain, ranging from light rain to heavy thunder, and 4 variations of randomized snow, its always different, kinda.

State of the art enemies. You and your friends can face up to two different enemies, yep that's right a whole whopping two....in all honesty sorry for the low amount, I added tougher pallet swaps of them that'll appear less likely, but the enemy design is really lacking in this level. And plus the enemies only appear in one spot. But there is green blocks and cliffs that will damage you. for testing purposes.

Amazing abilities. You're sackbots can do amazing things, which are all included down here, and in the description.

NEW Rolling- Use it to roll through red marked blocks and to get around faster or get a boosted jump. Now mapped to the sqaure button!!

Climbing- You can scale ropes, vines, and ladders with this. Hold X behind one of those things, and push X in the direction you want to move

Swimming- Hop on in the Water and take a dip. Like climbing hold X and push a direction to swim.

NEW Sprinting- Remember that terrible way to perform a roll? Well now its been replaced with something that makes more sense, sprinting!!! When sackboy isout on his usual jog, just perform a quick double tap in the direction he's running to pick up the pace. (or tripletap when standing still)

Attacking- Press O to attack things. You come with a standard punch, but can be changed with equipment.

http://i7.lbp.me/img/ft/067cbd8bdb2f7c4bc70e6d35e7e8ef1465cedee7.jpg

NEWEquipping- Click in L3 to toggle between the the weapons equip armor equip menu and no menu. Then use the R-stick to move the cursor across the menu, and select what you want with Triangle. Sorry there is no armor to equip this time, still working on it in the new interface. Also if you count the slots, thats how many weapons/armor will be equipable in the final game. The collumns represent strength, farther right the more powerful, while the rows represent type, First being melee, second being ranged, and I'll let you guys guess on the third.

Here's what the new menu looks like, its a bad angle but it says weapons at the top.

B]NEW[/B] Interaction-you can now interact with certain things (only the treasure chests for now), just simply move the right stick to bring up the cursor, move it over what you want, press triangle and bam! You've interacted...I plan to use this feature to talk to npc's, examine stuff, open doors and what not, ect, but for now all you can do is test it on the two treasure chests. Each will unlock you some new weapons. Oh and i'm using the memorizer, whichi've never used before, so tell me if that works well for you guys.

Wall Jumping- Back before the DC level back, you had to make your own wall jump, and that's what this is here. Jump at a light blue wall and press X again to wall jump. Make sure you have the prefect timing though. Still need to update this, I know some people are having trouble, so maybe I should switch to DC wall jump?? Tell me if you think I should keep this or not.

Here's some more intense logic I added

Anyways, like I said earlier, its a proof of concept so there's not much to do, but run around and test everything, think of this as a beta stage, so any feedback or suggestions or glitches discovered would be really appreciated...and don't forget to leave your feedback for feedback level in your post, and I'll get back to you on it as soon as I can.

And even if my queue is full to overflowing, your level will find its place inside!
Many greetings, Jürgen^^

Hello, I recently played this level. Overall, I quite enjoyed it and I would be excited to play more than a tech demo. But with that being said, I think there are thing in the future you can change to create a smoother experience.

Firstly, the rolling. Everthing about is great except for the controls. Having it mapped as pressing the stick twice makes it awkward and at times, unresponsive.
Second, the rain. I love the weather effects except the rain prohibits me from place any stickers onto the sticker panels.
Third, the health was confusing, at first I thought it would lower but instead it just dimmed, it didnt seem super responsive towards the enemies.

Other than those three gripes I thought everthing else was well designed. I especially liked the snow. I think this tech demo could turn into something great! Especially with the multiplayer functionality.

Good job, keep creating!

You must queue way to many levels, this is clearly the only level you need...JK, I'm glad tobhere your queuing it. Last I heard from you was on my music level, which you gave me some great feedback, can't wait to here from you on this!

Thank you so much for the feedback, I'm glad to here you liked it, except for well those three gripes. But I do have good news! I have been working on fixing your problems you encountered. in fact I didnt sleep at all last night trying to edit the level.
First off, the rolling, the double tapping no longer rolls, it has been replaced with a sprint feature, and only a slight speed boost, nothing crazy to make controls awkard. Rolling has been changed to the square button for easier access.
About that rain. I didnt even think about it getting in the way of equipment. So in order to fix that I through away the whole system for equipping. Now you dont use stickers at all, everything is saved with the memorizer. Finally I didnt change the life system. I've been using counters behind the scenes, and if you equipped some armor it would select a counter with the higher hit count, so it seemed easiest to just set them all to the same light and put a dimmer on it, But I will be looking for ways to improve its functionality

a few hours ago i tried to play it again. still i think its not easy to get up walls. lbp has those walljumping dlcs, and i wonder why you don't use them? oh i guess thats because bot's can't use them? never tried it.
i dont want to be mean, but i think people will stop playing when they got the normal lbp features more difficult to handle as they are used too. i just mean it good with you, don't start a big project with this, and than don't see much people finishing it, that can be very frusttrating. one thing for sure, make sure that everything works fine in the end and that new players get it.

i also think that it is way to easy to accidentally use that speed up, and it's hard to see that it is a speed up maybe you can show it with some dash lines?

btw i liked the background stuff a lot and some of the effects.

also i hope lbp3 may include water without the water tool, so you can put it in a hole and not 3D... but i guess that will never happen

I'm sorry to hear that you can't wall jump still. I was waiting for more feedback from other people to see if I should change it up or not, but I changed it to the dc wall jump. And the reason I didn't use it before is that the level has been in development log before dc came out.

oh dont worry your not being mean, criticism is great. I published this level to get feedback on it before I started my huge level project. I'm using this to test if everything works fine, and to be honest I've encountered some glitches with the new equip system and attacking, I'll fix that soon, but if you want you can try again now to get passed the wall jump now

also think that it is way to easy to accidentally use that speed up, and it's hard to see that it is a speed up maybe you can show it with some dash lines?
Yeah I'm working on the dash, but I made it now too fast because its so easy to accidently use, so you won't awakardly sprint off the cliff.

btw i liked the background stuff a lot and some of the effects.
Yay you liked something!!

also i hope lbp3 may include water without the water tool, so you can put it in a hole and not 3D... but i guess that will never happen
And hopefully you can make sackbots water proof
