So I've seen and played many Mm or Team picked levels, and I haven't really seen many with the 3D layer glitch, where materials extend forwards and backwards, out of the playable layers. I also haven't noticed many with the 3D camera glitch. So I have just one question: Are levels with these glitches less likely to be chosen to be in the Mm or Team pick areas?

Hahaha "MM" has always fully supported the use of the 3D glitch, when they developed the game they said they even looked after not removing that awesome glitch people found back in LBP1. Now, the picks are not chosen by MM, therefore they are called Team Picks, and they follow the same philosophy; that being said, do not be afraid of making some 3D extravaganza, in terms of Team Picking, that will not reduce your chances of getting picked if your level is awesome enough

Well, yes and no, I think. Whilst they won't not pick you because you used the 3D layer glitch, the additional layers are very hard to master. A lot more time and attention is required on the 3D layers, since you cant use custom shapes and it's hard to smooth the layers, which is probably why you don't see many Team Picks using the glitch. As far as my experience goes, you either have to build in rectangles or use the corner editor tool. Dragon's Den (I think it's called) is a fairly recent pick that uses the 3D layer glitch very well.

Sealed Fate and Avalore by Felkroth and Hemflowhotflop respectively both used the 3D glitch.

It's quite possible to receive a Team Pick whilst using the 3D level glitch. Generally speaking, using glitches or any other in-game trickery to positive effect will not prevent somebody from getting a Team Pick, since we wouldn't consider it to be otherwise detrimental to the game. If we felt that such a glitch was an issue, we would fix it and possibly advise people to avoid using it in the interim (depending on how widespread it is upon discovery).
