For one last time in LittleBigPlanet 2... It's time to take players from the LittleBigPlanet community and have them fight, scheme, vote each other out, and if their lucky... survive.

For the first time ever, we're recruiting pairs of players. Each pair must know each other in real life, and must see each other regularly. I advise getting a family member, partner, or close friend. Both members in a pair must have their own PSN accounts and forum accounts. Only one PS3 and one copy of LBP2 are required per pair.

For those who don't know, Survivor: LittleBigPlanet is a competition based on the TV show Survivor. In it, I take a group of players from the LBP community and split them up into teams. Every 2-3 days, players from the teams compete in challenges built in LBP2. The losing team must vote a player out and the process more or less repeats itself until we get to our final players.

Challenges come in different types, most of which will be based around solving puzzles or platforming. We try to put an LBP spin on what we think you'd see in a real life season of Survivor. In terms of how challenges are played, they mostly come in the following varieties:

1 - Challenges where players get to play on their own - either as many times as they want when going for a high score, or trying to be the first to get through a level.
2 - Head to Head challenges where we'll set a meeting time for everyone to get online and take on live opponents.
3 - Single player challenges where players must find a staff member online at their convenience.

Most of the game outside of challenges will take place in your team's private forum. Each team gets a private forum that can be thought of as their camp. There, players can interact with fellow teammates and get all of the latest updates on the game. Only the staff and the players on a team will be able to see what happens there. Once the game begins, players will gain access to their team's private forum.

Once a good portion of players have been eliminated (exact number to remain secret until it happens), the teams will merge and competitions will then become individual. The winner of these individual challenges gets immunity from being voted off. All remaining players will vote for one of those remaining.

Once we get down to the final vote, a specific number of recently eliminated players will each cast a vote for who they want to win. Most votes in the final vote becomes the Sole Survivor.

Rules and format for each challenge will be presented to the players following each vote.

Other variations may occur and will be explained to the players as the game progresses.

Doesn't LBP max out at 4 players?
Since LBP maxes out at 4 players, I've devised challenges that will work around that limitation. Some challenges will have the individual contributions of each team's members adding up to a whole, some will have head to head battles, some will require 2-3 from a team working together. Info and videos from our last few seasons can be found in the Survivor subforums on LBPCentral and LittleBigPlanetarium.

Want in? Here's what you need to do.
Send me a short video showing why you should be picked to play. I don't care what you put in it, just keep things clean. Make it funny, make it serious... make whatever you think would tell the staff why you should be picked to play. Again, keep things clean. As for what specifically to say or do, it's now up to you.

Once you send in the video, I'll send you a questionnaire to fill out. Fill it out and send it back and you'll be invited to play a practice level with a member of our staff. Poor performance in the practice level shouldn't keep you from getting into the game ? instead your performance will be used when teams are created. After playing, all that's left is to await further info. Once we're about to start, I'll send you an invite to your team's group page. It's that simple!

However, there are some requirements for potential pairss:
Send in an application video, answer the questions, and play the application level with a staffer.
Both players must be willing to check the forum at least once a day and play in a challenge once every 2-3 days.
Both must be able to make it to the occasional scheduled meet up in game, or on skype.
Both must be willing to stick with this game for as long as you're still in it. If this starts in late July, we'll probably end sometime in late August.
Both must be willing to vote in the final vote even if you're a sore loser you aren't satisfied with the finalists.
Both must be able to take in game screenshots and either post them online or send them to me.
Both must be able to respond to messages and group posts in a timely manner.
Both must be able to either skype voice chat or record yourself and send it in.
Both must be willing to follow the rules of a given challenge.
Both must be willing to follow the rules of the overall game.

Finally, while this isn't an absolute requirement, we strongly suggest getting skype. Updates and activities will occasionally have info posted on twitter, so follow me @mrradical5601

They are no real limits to who can join this game. Returning players are allowed to play. Please do not lie about who you are. Please be somewhat coherent and have at least some grasp of how to play LBP. I also advise anyone who wishes to play to look up the basics of Survivor. Players from outside of the US can play. Players from outside of the US can win prizes. All PSN cards will be for the North American store.

The grand prize winner gets a prize bigger than anything we've offered before. Last season, the winner got a $50 PSN card and a giant, wearable Sackboy head. This season's prize blows that out of the water... and will be revealed on day 1.

Want to see what we've done in the past? Check out our season 7 and season 8 recaps at http://www.littlebigplanetarium.com/topic/1663-survivor-lbp-7-season-recap-commentary/ and http://www.littlebigplanetarium.com/topic/2721-survivor-littlebigplanet-8-all-stars-the-complete-recap/

Remember, send in your video! You can send it on LBPCentral, LittleBigPlanetarium, LittleBigNetwork, or on twitter @mrradical5601.
We're looking to start the game in two weeks, so get those entries in quickly!

The deadline for applications will be July 22 at 8PM Eastern.

Heh this has always been so much fun to follow, I'd submit an application but I have not one single person in real life I know to like LBP, even less to have an account in any fansite...

The prize is very intriguing though :colossus:

The prize will blow you away. Seriously.

One recommendation for anyone without easy access to a partner... See if you can drag a parent into this. Who knows... it might make for a fun family bonding experience...

Yay another survivor!

Also, the same problem for me, finding a partner and at the same time for both of us go through many guidelines is near impossible for me.
