Traffic Panic! [Beta]

Archive: 8 posts

Hey there!

I've been working on a level for some time called 'Traffic Panic!'. It is inspired by the Android/iOS Game of the same name.

There is a busy cross-road with cars zooming from left to right. Your job is to control a traffic light that controls the cars going from bottom to top! The aim is simple: Make sure there are no crashes, and don't create a traffic jam!

For all you lovely people on LBPCentral, I'm making this beta open to you all.
Simply go to this level (http://lbp.me/v/jrdhhz) and enter the code CAR-LOL-00

I would greatly appreciate any feedback whatsoever, as I would like this level to be the best it possibly can be - and that is the point of a beta!

Thank you in advance.

Omg! A dream of my childhood will come true! I always wanted to control the traffic of a cross-road as a traffic policeman!
Queuuued in the queue which will be the result of the chaos that I will probably cause!

that reminded me a lot to frogger. i think you could easy reskin all this to make a frogger clone x3 (i would play it! heh)

its hard to find something to say. the controlls are easy and it works find as it should. i did not see any bugs.
will there be skin changes during the game`? so it don*t gets boring later if you*re skilled enough to even play further?
(funny idea: maybe adding a police drive hunting someone in a car blocking the street for a few seonds, heh)

well for F4F i dont want to force you to do it, since my review is short here and i don't know much to say.
but you can go to the Skunk Bunny Adventures 2 Level in my signature if you want to play it. but thats up to you! no need to.

Aha, I believe that the original game I was inspired by was, in turn, inspired by frogger:3

Hmm... skin changes... well, at the moment there are 6 different types of car that drive from left to right (and vice versa), and 12 different cars that drive from the bottom to the top. This is already hitting hard on the thermometer, since the cars have a fair amount of logic on them. However, I do believe there should be some more variety... how does, say, a bus sound? (EDIT: Scratch that, a bus didn't fit in with the rest of the scenery very well)

I do really like that idea with the police though aha, I'll see what I can do (EDIT: The randomiser that emits the cars from right to left now has a 1 in 40 chance of spawning a car with a bag of goodies that speeds down the road and pauses in front of a junction, preventing the player from advancing - a few seconds later a cop car arrives and the criminal speeds off)

Thanks for your feedback, I'll definitely take a look at your level!
