For some reason, my Vita battery is doing retarded crap. i.e. just a few seconds ago, my Vita died. But i pressed the vita button (without charging it at all) and the battery comes up at almost fully charged. Also, every few minutes, the battery switches between almost dead and almost fully charged. Does anyone know what's going on? I feel like it has something to do with me using a nook wall charger, which has 1.9a while the vita usually takes 1.2a (on a side note my vita is apparently hot even though im holding it right now.)

That sounds like a defective or broken battery. You may want to send it to Sony.

Yea, sending it to Sony should help with that. You're going to need a new battery. Especially when your vita is hot since it's REALLY not supposed to do that. But if you want to try to keep the battery, I suggest let your vita cool down a day or two without it being on and maybe use a different charger if you have another. If that doesn't help, send it to Sony.

Hmmm I had this exact problem as well, the battery going crazy at times. What I recommend you to do is to try and use the whole system's battery until it dies out, then wait a day without charging it up and charging it until it is 100%, like if it was the first time you charged it. If you wish you can also try to reset the system through the menu that appears by holding the PS button for 20 secs but I don't really think that's a good idea since it doesn't really have much to do with the battery, and you can delete stuff accidentally in such menu. After a couple of weeks with this issue my Vita came back to normal by doing what I said at the beginning of this post. Not that I know if this will help your Vita but you should try before sending it to Sony

How much is a battery, heck does Amazon sell them? Anyway's my battery only lasts about 3 to 4 hours tops if I'm gaming though when left on but in stand-by 2 or 3 days. One of the only cons of the Vita.
