Sackbot Following Light Help

So I've been working on a level, and the time of day changes, rain falls, ect. And I noticed that when it's night or rainy it gets too dark to see the platforms, and instead of just putting lights at every corner of the cave, I was thinking I could have a light that turns on and follows the player/sackbot.

The only problem is all the lights I can think of are tangible objects and would get caught on something or get in players way when following. I was wondering if there was a light source that can go through things or any other way to light up the place. I'm up for any ideas.

There are a thew options here. Without experimenting on solutions you could have a tag sensor on your sackbot and get the light to follow it perfectly that way any gap as it can only go through games 1 layer thick. However I am fairly sure if you just stick an LED light on a hologram or sticker panel and make them invisible and get it to follow your sackbot, it should pass through anything2014-07-11 12:32:00

He is correct, I've used this in at least 5 levels.

Wait so the LED light hologram thing or the following closely? Because I tried the following closely and it just got in the way of me changing layers, and all the lights i tried on the hologram didnt go invisible...but maybe i'm using the wrong light.

Can you put the light in the back layer and tweak the follower to not change layers?

Also lights can shine through objects. I've used a spotlight that was off screen and skinning through walls. It still lightened things up. I don't think you want a spotlight, just an example.

I could try that, but I tend to use the use all the layers for design purposes, but maybe I could put some logic on the light and have it change layers with a button press, like up, so it forcefully gets pushed back by logic

Check all of the light objects, I know of two that can be made invisible, one is round and one square, and both are intangible if placed on invisible hologram.

The LED light has an option in the tweak menu (press square) that says visible. Change the check to an X. Also make the sticker panel/holo invisible through the tweak menu as well.2014-07-21 10:55:00
