Boss Help !

I need the assistance of my fellow creators out there... I'm needing a Boss for a Dragon themed level that i'm currently working on it can be just a large front facing head that shoots flames and lava balls... at least 2 levels for the boss ( you know defeat 1 time and then it's tactics change after it recovers.. etc..) I will give credit to whoever submits the best boss in the level, I maybe good at level design but making a good Boss I cannot seem to get it right. This project is several months in the making and I've still a very long way to go, I'm also needing good music as well.. just let me know and i'll add you to the roster of creators in the credits if you find time join me and together we'll create a great level... I might could help you plan the design if I have time, but I can't build the whole battle for you. Plus keep in mind, anything anybody else makes isn't going to be your own work, and isn't going to fit the look of the rest of the level.

I just need ideas for the level not asking anyone to build the entire level for me. Also I'm just asking my fellow creators to build a dragon boss for the level , I'm only asking for the boss itself and I will add the battle sequence myself... I am good at level design but my bosses that I've attempted to build look horrible. Now if LBP allowed the use of an electronic tablet and pen then it wouldn't be a problem. If you want I can send the Dragon face that I've been using to decorate the walls of my level if that will help.2014-07-10 03:52:00

Please be aware that while I do own the Cross Controller Pack, I cannot use any materials for it, as I do not own a Vita, and thus cannot play it.

Here are 3 images these are what im using in the level. You are welcome to utilize any materials as I have all DLC plus all Story content.... I would like mouth to open and close. head moving up down and side to side as well, impact reaction to being hit. I would like it similar to the 1st Boss in Davinchi's level if possible, I will add all attacks and sequences ( breathing fire, etc..) The pictures are for reference but you may create it however you like. I really appreciate the help it already looks as if it's going to be at least 2 sublevels in addition to the main level.

This looks like a Chinese Dragon. Couple more questions.

1. What color scheme are you wanting?

2. How many layers can I use? I can probably fit this in two thick layers to give it some depth, but I might also need some of the thin layers.

3. What kind of arena are we working with here? Is there a ceiling? Does the floor move?

This is a few years old, so my designs are much better than this nowadays, but I'm thinking something similar to this.

With a dragon, I would give it small dragon arms with twitching claws along the torso. The head would technically be a free floating object with a follower, and I can set up some speed-sensor gyros to give it some sway when it moves. I'll set it up wirelessly for you, so it'll be nice and easy to set a battle sequence.

EDIT: One more question.

Do you want a more realistic dragon, or something a bit more vivid and memorable? I can DO realistic things. But I do vivid things better.

A memorable boss a cross between vivid and realistic.. 2 thick layers is fine..the thin layer in between too... have you ever used the Theck and Thack sublayers? If you haven't check out comphermc's tutorials on them one of them fits right behind the thin layer so you have an extra layer to work with. Green for the main body with yellow underbelly and gold mixed in. it will be in a cave but no ceiling just some decorative Stalagmites and Stalagtights the cave will be 3D to give it lots of depth.... if you let me add you as friend then I can send you my Dragon heads to use for reference if it will help you. On the floor im going to have Lava shooting up through it to add an extra danger element to the fight scene...

Okay, I DID finally manage to open up your attachment last night, DarkKnight. I'd done some work on this a while back, but I didn't like where it was going so I stopped.

At first he was kind of a beefy dragon, but I thought that might have looked silly, so I removed the torso to go for more of a chinese dragon look. This was also very silly, so I stopped.

As for motions, his head would have been able to breath fire, and he would have been able to move around wirelessly. His arms would have been able to grab rocks from the walls and throw them, and he would have been able to summon a fiery rain. This all would have been done with wireless detection, so all you'd need to do is set up a movement grid, and a sequencer to activate tags. (Plus the boss room.) Ultimately, he did end up using all three layers sadly. XD Mostly because I added the body.

Oh and his mustache moves, and flows, this is just him at a resting state. So they're not always pointing out so sharply.

I am pretty much useless in your case of help. However I think I know where you can find a 'dragon boss'. The creators name is Jplusk and the level you will find it in is called 'oranges, ninjas and a lovely girl'! Hope this helps!2014-09-11 19:02:00
