it's also fundamental to build mathematical organized multi-parts complex objects.......2009-02-19 12:24:00

A system of horizontal and vertical lines used to chart specific position coordinates ie the Latitude/Longitude Grid system.2009-02-19 12:45:00

Another interesting note (lol) is that the grid is buggy. It won't appear at the exact same place depending where/went you turn it on!

Two hand things:
1) Grid comes in three sizes: 2, 4 and 8. These numbers represent how big each of the three seizes of grid-squares are in proportion to the other two seizes, but you can think of it as 2, 4 and 8 foot or whatever if it helps you. This numbers are also very handy to configure the length of pistons, to make sure a sackperson can jump over a gap you made (I don't know exactly how far that is, but once you find out by experiment - as being '16 feet', two blocks in 8 grid for instance), you can rely on this while building your level.

2) Another handy thing about grid is that, if you switch it on, you can more or less safely move objects around without deforming them. Without grid, the slightest and most imperceptible nod to your left stick can enlarge or shrink the object you're turning aroud. That left stick is so sensitive that this is almost inevitable. As a result, some things that previously fitted each other like a glove stop.... wel, stop fitting like a glove. Very annoying. In other words, working in grid is always the safest when things get complicated.

i've also understood with practice that u can position your objects inside a grid box and if the object is smaller then the grid box he will be attached in one of the sides. if u want to move for instance mathematical values copies of your object to the left, the copies of your object will be allways attached in the left side of the sequenced grid boxes, but.... if u want to copy in the oposite horizontal direction it will first be attached to the right side... only after this positioning it's possible to work in equal values again.......... 2009-02-19 16:51:00

It's says something about the community when an OP like this can elicit so many thoughtful responses. Bravo!

I have some measurements of the full grid as they were determined on the workshop forum by MrZebra77.

1575 small grid squares long
768 small grid squares high

Anyone hear of different measurements? There's also some rows alone the ceiling and the walls that can't be used.
