Need more logic help

Archive: 5 posts

I am trying to make a code sequence for a puzzle. I tried to follow this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCryeXkKpDQ

I went as far as pausing the video and wiring it exactly like this person had it, but it still doesn't work at all.
What can I do to achieve this effect?

The basic concept I want to achieve is that I have 3 three-way switches. The code is based on which way each of the switches is used, for example

1st: switch 1 = right
2nd: switch 2=left
3rd: switch 3=left
4th:=switch 1 right.

I followed the logic tutorial in the above post but when I applied it to LBPV, it didn't work at all. What do I need to do to convert this from LBP2 to LBPV?

You should not use these tutorials - that guy is a hack

On a serious note:

The logic in the tutorial is sound, and should work just fine in LBPV. Have you tried building a simplified setup (with just two states) to make sure you can get that working?

Also note that Three Way Switches tend to wobble back and forth, if you release them after pulling them to their extreme positions. This wobbling can potentially be picked up as an attempted input, and thus reset your ordered input progress...

I have been able to get it to work on a small scale with 1 switch. But when I add any more than 1, then the whole thing just blinks in the circuitry but there is no output. I have the output wired to a light for the moment till I get it working.2014-07-09 07:32:00

Since you're using 3 way switches you can solve your problem with simpler logic than that shown in the tutorial.

I have created what I think you're after and published it in a copyable level Random Logic Help (http://vita.lbp.me/v/c2vch)

If you enter the level and keep moving right you'll get to it.

The 3 way switches are connected to direction splitters - one of the outputs is for the correct direction and is connected to a counter, the other output from the splitter is for the incorrect direction and is connected to the 4 port OR gate which resets the counters.

hope this is useful.
