Game of Stones [Platformer]

LBP.me: http://lbp.me/v/qse1msq Hey there! Well, yea, this is my new Platformer and probably my last level in LBP2 *sob* (but woot, LBP3!) Anyway, the level is temple-themed, but I tried to make it different from all those other DC-Pack-orientated temples. I used memorizer in this level, so when you cross certain checkpoints, you will get a popup message, saying "Checkpoint unlocked": means, when you replay the level (because you froze, lost interest or rage-quitted the level) you can continue on a checkpoint of your choice instead of replaying all again. Also for collecting the 7 secrets it might be handy. If you found all secrets you can activate the racemode. All in all i tried to make the level challenging but not too hard. This is probably a problem when you play with more than 1 player, because when lag comes some parts can get horribly hard. Nevertheless I hope you?ll have fun! http://ie.lbp.me/img/ft/d4e742cd574dafde4ce711347a7a5dc2c91a301c.jpg http://i5.lbp.me/img/ft/b5565b707413b97107627c2822266721482708f3.jpg http://i5.lbp.me/img/ft/fa5647159be3b48ce41d721ea1e933319df9693a.jpg http://lbp.me/v/qse1msq | 2014-06-30 11:02:00 Author: se-mi92 Posts: 101 |

Great level! The idea with the checkpoints is marvelous, because the level was a little too hard for clumsy me But with this checkpoint-system I come back for the rest after a few servings valerian | 2014-06-30 14:04:00 Author: Schnupsi Posts: 506 |
Hahaha, I'm glad that I'm not the only one to fail! Se-mi, your level is fantastic, grandious visual effects, thrilling gameplay, fantastic music! I failed in the part with the lava going higher and higher and the walljumps where the small walls go in and out! But I will also try it again and so I think that using the memorizer has been a really good idea! Great level which I can only recommend to the community! Many greetings, Jürgen^^ | 2014-07-03 17:08:00 Author: CuriousSack Posts: 3981 |

Nice use of layers for the obstacles, it looks really smooth. I also really like the use of memoriser check points. Something I would love to see more of! | 2014-07-05 02:44:00 Author: Mr_Fusion Posts: 1799 |
A truely masterpiece of visuals and 3d gameplay!!! Amazing and excellent!!! Wow! | 2014-07-06 18:21:00 Author: avundcv Posts: 2526 |
I got around to playing this today. What a great level! The atmosphere was really excellent, and the story told itself; Sacky goes into a temple because Sacky is a dumb explorer. And that's fine! The level even starts the player outside the temple, which makes sense. The gameplay was pretty fun and filled to the brim with fun ideas. It played very well for most of the time. Scenery worked great for the atmosphere, looked great. Especially the sackbot stone statues had me smiling. Some suggestions or whatever: Weird ending Okay, so Sacky goes into a temple for whatever reason..and then dies horribly inside temple? The level starts outside the temple, shouldn't sacky also get out of there? The level made it seem like sacky just got stuck inside the temple in all eternity Lava inconsistency The lave gameplay was really fun and I enjoyed it a lot. However I died a bunch not because I am a silly goof, but because the lava felt inconsistent. I'm referring to the sections where lava comes in waves and you have to find cover. The first one, where the lava comes from the background, plays well at first. However at the part where you have to use grab sponges, the lava would kill me even if the lava flood was not even touching me! For whatever reason you have extended the fire wall ABOVE the visual lava wall, creating a really silly invisible danger. There's a checkpoint right there allowing players to survey the scene, and one can CLEARLY see that the lava should not kill a player hanging from the sponges, not even close! You can't just throw invisible danger at the players just because you want players to complete an obstacle a certain way! There's also a pillar a little bit to the right of the sponges in that section, but for whatever reason that pillar is not safe to hide behind. Why? I don't know! It's clearly cover, so I should be able to hind behind it. Inconsistencies like this really kills the fun for me, I didn't die 10 times there because it was hard, I died because you failed to communicate the rules of the obstacle to me. The part where the lava sidescrolls to the left is also really fun, but for whatever reason the fire would linger behind the lava for a good one second, killing anyone who was trying to be fast after the wave. Again, why is there an invisible fire wall trailing behind the lava? IMO the lava should be dangerous, and where there is not lava, there should not be danger. Fix this! I have moar feedback, but I've got to run! I'll finish this later. Good stuff anyway!! | 2014-07-13 08:59:00 Author: Mnniska Posts: 531 |
Thx for your reviews @Mnniska: so, to defend myself (xD), the pillar on the first-lava-wave room IS actually a save place, it's just not completely save cuz theres a little gap between it and the stonewall, so if you don't stand right in front of the pillar (or the wall) you ll get burned The sponges right before this pillar are not supposed to be save either, but I can understand that this might confuse the player (but it would be quite easy if it was save, no? ) And about the room whith the sidescrolling lava, thats just a lack of logic, the wave iself is not deadly, it has a tag on it which makes static blocks of invisible stickerpanel deadly, so I was able to make a certain layer save. now, thinking of it, i got an idea to make it more precise xD oh and about the ending, I?m not really a good storyteller or something, thats why I made a open end. So you can interpret the bright light behind the scoreboard as shining treasure or light from the outside or whatever you want | 2014-07-13 10:48:00 Author: se-mi92 Posts: 101 |

Weird! The sponges right before this pillar are not supposed to be save either, but I can understand that this might confuse the player (but it would be quite easy if it was save, no? ) Yes it would! However I am NOT complaining about the difficulity here, I am complaining that the level does not explain WHY the player gets killed there. So far you had made it look like the lava was the danger, but that part completely ignores the lava and extends INVISIBLE danger outside the lava! It's really ridiculous when you think about it, no? A solution to this would be to have the visual lava go higher up in that part, so that the visuals match up with the gameplay. And about the room whith the sidescrolling lava, thats just a lack of logic, the wave iself is not deadly, it has a tag on it which makes static blocks of invisible stickerpanel deadly, so I was able to make a certain layer save. now, thinking of it, i got an idea to make it more precise xD That's good news, please do! I had more feedback, but this long day has made me forget about it. I'll return here when it pops into my mind, lol. | 2014-07-14 00:51:00 Author: Mnniska Posts: 531 |
Amazing level. The use of the lava material in this level is beyond epic, and the visuals looked awesome. The gameplay is challenging yet excellent, especially standing on the two stone sackboys. Also, great use of memorizers, even though I completely finished the level without leaving it. And great music choices from soundisme, xTrilexx & G-Gilgamesh-G and Buddydestruction. The only gripe in the level is that I can jump onto a platform next to the third checkpoint without grabbing the three circular materials ( No matter, that part looks like it's impossible to pass ). Overall, great level. A yay and heart. | 2014-07-26 19:56:00 Author: JustinArt Posts: 1314 |
