I think that people like you are not thinking it through much or not explaining yourselves in detail enough and in general are worried about things that don't really matter.

For example did you consider that people also use the copy feature while working on team projects? A lot of creators prefer to build alone even while they are working as a team on a project which means the whole team needs to be able to pass the same level around with each other. Of course this could be made better with a "copy with friends only" option, which would allow only friends to copy from each other.

There's also the the fact some people use the copy feature as a-way to give useful logic and rare objects to players. And unless Sony fixes the problem of prize bubble objects turning into a single un-edible piece, otherwise copy levels are the best option in this case for this reason.

Also people obsess over the cool pages way to much in my opinion. So what if poorly made copied levels get popular? Even if they were all banned that still wouldn't change people from being who they are. Bad effortless levels would still get popular even if they were not copied from a save button. Tons of people who put tons of hard work into their levels will often always get over shadowed by what many would consider to be junk. Also this next part is just my opinion but I think it's better to not worry about how popular your works end up being and should just be happy with making your dreams made into something real and should focus on the journey and less on the reward. *mew

Controlled Copying: Levels can be fully copy-able (copy and publish), restricted copy-able (requires permission), read-only copy-able (no publishing of copied level), and not copy-able;

Search: Option to not show levels published from fully copy-able levels.

Track: Option to track the original from its copies.

Unfortunately one does not simply create a game where people can devote loads of time towards creating something they take pride in and expect them to not care when someone steals their stuff. What needs to happen is the copy feature needs to stay but their needs to be an anti capture tool. You will be able to put a chip on an object you create and only you will be able to remove that chip. To anyone else it will disable their ability to capture or edit whatever is associated with the item that has this chip. It will also disable their ability to take stickers off of that object and save any level with that object in it. Objects like this could be called "patented objects" for example. People could have a level setting that disables anyone's ability to place "patented objects" in the level as well. As we cannot stop people from being annoying and publishing copied levels, we cannot stop people from getting angry at thieves who steal things as this is who they are. I conclude that copy features on levels should stay but there should be a way to track the original and filter out fakes as gdn001 mentioned. The unrestricted capture tool is the real problem here. Also i dont believe the single uneditable object from prize bubbles is a problem if something similar to my anti-capture system isn't implemented. We should be able to use our favorite objects without fear of them being copied by some random kid. Ive had serious issues with people taking credit for MY tech and getting famous with it. This proves that copying is a bigger issue than annoying little kids that should just be ignored. There are very dishonest people out there.

How about simplely, Just allow people block containt from individuals. IF someone wishes to waste their time on LBP spamming levels and everything then let them but allow the other creators to completely block their content. Everybody gets what they want.

Also copying isn't the problem. The issue is that people have explioted a weakness in the advertising system. Really anything level could be spammed to the cool wall. Back in LBP1 it was even worse as people were uploading blank levels with names and a detailed description.

Honestly I think the lack of user controlls in LBP on the PS3 was it's major downfall but now that we have to pay to play online with the PS4. They should allow us to controll what we want to see and not just tell us.

Removing copied levels won't force people to make their own content.

Just add "ORIGINALLY BY" in the title when copied unless the original player signs off on a MOON copy for team projects

Problem solved

Then people would get their friends to publish their copied levels to farm the hearts / yays etc. I believe, as I posted on another thread, that

Copied levels should be able to be published but make them so that they, like copied objects, cite the original creator and their collaborators with a link to their page(s) and don't count towards earning trophies.

They should also be void of all stats except reviews and not show up on any variant of a "cool" page system. For players working together we should get a new option on the moon itself called "transfer to friend" so we can send levels directly to collaborators without the new copy system blocking them or their hard work.
