The first three Siege Master! were short levels set in a Middle Age-like world; they always featured a castle to besiege or to defend from a siege, as well as various siege weapons and combat with sackperson-like creatures. They weren't good, but they were important for my evolution as a creator. Also, with the third one, there was the first attempt to add some type of decent back story. Siege Master! 4 is a huge step forward from the first three ones. It's a long, cinematic level with lots of cut-scenes, scripted events and dialogues. The player acts as the master of the Greens, a faction of sackpeople that has to find a way to defend themselves from the evil Greys, their worst enemies. It's not necessary to play the first three ones to play SM4, because the level features a introduction scene that shows the prologue to the level and a synthesis of the story of the first three ones combined with more backstory about the world. The introduction can be skipped, if you happen to replay the level. The level features a few simple, small Platform parts, but the most notable feature is a combat system that lets you fight with enemy soldiers. They will try to swing their swords at you while you can jump on their heads (like ordinary creatures) to hurt them and eventually beat them. http://ia.lbp.me/img/ft/79a615a3d15c04f12174b7725da73b8489040b79.jpg There are some issues that I'm already aware of, but that I cannot solve for various reasons. Still, I would like to know about your opinions about it, for example about how the scripted scenes are managed and if the combat system is too difficult to handle. I have also recently updated it with unlimited life checkpoints (some parts seemed to be too difficult) and improved language.
