Tower Defense

Hey,
after a very long break I decided to create a new level. It will be an extremely epic tower-defense game . Maybe someone knows the first tower-defense game I made in LBP2 Beta:

Anyway, this new version will be much better. What I've created so far:

a path system for the enemies
multiple enemies (currently 6)
multiple towers (currently 3) with at least 4 upgrades each.
multiple levels (currently 1 test level)

I thought it's a cool idea, that the different types of enemies spawn other weaker types, when they die. For example: Enemy of type 4 dies and spawns Enemy of type 3 . Then Enemy of type 3 dies and spawns Enemy of type 1. That wasn't easy to implement, but it works like a charm now .



I'm planning to do a coop version, where your friend takes control over the enemies and is able to send different waves.

I also need some beta tester soon! What do you think?

Heh, I remember watching the video of that level; it was one of the videos of levels I watched which eventually convinced me to buy the game not long after it was released. I'll be keeping my eye on this; TD games have rarely been done in LBP, and the ones that have been made for the most part don't play well or are broken in some way. I need your help! Do you have any suggestions for my 4th tower? It should be the most expensive special tower with some cool upgrades.
So far I have:

Normal tower
A tower, which shoots in 4 directions
Sniper Tower (long range)

Some ideas

1. Slow tower: Slows down enemies (Doesn't fit criteria for "most expensive" or "cool upgrades" but certainly fits the bill for "special tower.")
2. Acid tower: Lays down acid that damages enemies over time.
3. MG tower: A tower that the player manually aims by pointing the cursor.
4. Boost tower: Increases the DPS of nearby towers
5. Rocket tower: Fires rockets that deal splash damage.

That is great! Thanks. I'm going to implement #2 (Acid tower) as the last upgrade for the normal tower.
my new special tower: #3 (MG tower)
4th tower: #5 (Rocket tower)

That's a total of 5 towers with up to 5 updates each

Very cool! I'll be watching this one closely. I really like how you dd the towers.

One of my next two projects is a tower defense level. I'm going back and cleaning up old stuff on my moon, and one of them is a TD. Not sure if I'll finish that one next, or work on another I have half built.

Anyway, keep at it! It looks really good so far.

For your last damage, you could do a splash damage tower. You could have invisible rings of hologram (assuming you use tags for damage) with a tag on it, and each ring would emit a bigger ring of hologram with a tag on it, up to a certain point. I'm not really sure how'd look, but it's an idea. Also, if you still need them, I'd be happy to Beta Test for you. I've been told i'm good at breaking things.2014-06-23 16:13:00

I did something similar with my rocket-tower. As soon as the projectile hits its target it'll spawn 4 new projectiles (yes, I use tags to apply damage). I like your idea with invisible holo-rings. I may add this as a tower-upgrade.
