Lbpv 2

Now that LBP3 has been announced, is anyone else wondering what happened to the LBPV 2 game that was sort-of announced a while back in 2013?

Vaporware or misinformation?

Eh... The Vita itself didn't seem to be a gigantic success. I doubt this is going to happen at all.2014-06-10 22:04:00

I saw somewhere that the Vita is being discontinued. I think we all the iPad's, phones, and other small devices that offer game play, Sony is backing out of this one.2014-06-11 00:42:00

But it's not like the game itself (LBPV) was a failure...and not much needs to be done. They have core programing already. Either way...kind of depressing news.

The old Vita was discontinued- the OLED (phat) one.

I'm so sad that is the case. :/ I really wish Sony marketed and sold the Vita better than they have. Though, the Playstation TV seems cool. I wouldn't mind playing LBP Vita on my tv!

I wish some big name game companies would put some good games on the Vita. I'm tired of the countless JRPGs.

I'm fairly certain that it's the PSP that's been discontinued, not the Vita. I think there will be some kind of Vita integration with lbp3, even if it is just remote play.2014-06-14 05:49:00

^ Yup, it's the psp that will be discontinued. Sad news, but it's been 10 years.
The ps vita on the other hand, I'd say, at least feels discontinued. No big titles coming anymore. And although I love indies, they are not the games that are going to attract customers. Plus, I want both indies and big titles.
I doubt lbpv2 will ever happen.

Seeing the lack of support from Sony, I don't think there will be any other LBP on the Vita.

In two years the Vita LBP will end just like the PSP one in 2012.

Nooooo! Ah, well, I'd like to see (at least) a cross-controller Dlc for lbp3, Just to bring back the fun...

It's really quite a shame. I have to say, the past months have gone lost in my uni, so I haven't spent any time in here or on LBPV anymore. Am thinking of creating something, but wonder if it'd be worth the effort... I could recycle logic from an old project for a new level, so who knows...2015-11-25 16:28:00

Its always worth the effort, except you want to get lots of plays! 2015-11-25 17:52:00

Ahh, that's true! i might just do it Should just see if I'm going to recycle my current engine for a new level, or just use the old level as well.
I like the aesthetics of the old level, but it's not quite the setting I'd choose for the new project.

Landed in this thread.
LBP Vita is an Exclusive. I don't think that there would be a second part. Maybe there were ideas, but I guess the developers have canceled it again.

Well, have hope, there are many players online.

As great as it would be to have an lbp2, the ps vita just doesn't have the processing power to handle all of lbp3's assets. They'd have to create a new portable console to handle it. But even that would require a lot of hardware and time.2016-01-19 16:59:00

I'll see this thread in 5 - 20 years then!
