For me, as a gameplay factor, this is probably the most annoying thing. When you accidently skip a magic mouth, or activate one first instead of another, or want to read one again. Mm seemed to have made a dogs dinner of this system. How bout putting the L1 button to better use, and using it to switch between dialog boxes.

if someone uses a sensor switch to activate a group of mouths, you can re-read everything. go in the sensor switches range, then press triangle to activate the 1st speech. then press circle to get out. then press triangle again and you'll read the next bubble. just rinse and repeat until you're done. but if they aren't using a switch, you're screwed. that's when your idea would come in handy
