Music Help Needed

Archive: 6 posts

Hello everyone,

I need some help with music on the Vita and if things go well, LBP2 as well.
I am currently working on a very large project that will be in the works most likely for several months. The release date is for sometime this winter. I have yet to make any posts regarding the existence of this project but I can drop a few hints to it here incase anyone is interested in helping.

Right now however I am looking for someone who can make very captivating and exciting retro sounding music. I cant make music myself, I dont seem to have a nack for it...well never truly tried.
The lvl will be a rather long one to play, making good use of the memorizer. It is a homage to some of the older top down adventure games of the gameboy and older era of games.
Its using a special method of world creation that iv spent a couple years slowly developing the concept for, its time to put it to use.

If you like old gameboy like retro pixelated games I would like to know, I need help with the music of course. If anyone is interested in making music for me there is a few guidelines that need to be followed with it.

This game may take gameplay mechanics from other games but it is an entirely original world and story and hopefully 1 or 2 mechanics of my own. The music needs to be original and not copied from anything, the music also must be exclusive to my lvl and not given out to others. It of course can be in a gallery and shown off, I just like to set my creations apart from others as best I can.

I am friends with some great music creators in LBP2 such as mastablastya and velvet-audio but neither have a vita as far as I know, So im on the hunt for some musical friends for the vita ^.^

This isint the only project though, others will come.
If anyone is interested and could help id be greatly grateful.

Well i'm very skilled with the Music Sequencer and a lot of people on the Vita side know me for my music. SolarFireFox is also very good at making retro music (and retro games too). I'd like to help.2014-06-06 13:28:00

The title seems it may end up on both platforms. LBP2 and LBPV, so having someone who can make music for both would be great...however I know not many have both. I feel the best would be if the music is made on LBP2 because I can be present while its being worked on to give live feedback and then just take the time to copy it over to the vita on my own. Wish LBPV allowed multiplayer moon.

Wouter1998 I been listening to your music but iv not found any retro songs yet. Do you have any examples of 8bit retro music?

Well i was thinking of getting a PS3 and LBP2, with LBP3 coming up, but i wasn't sure about if LBP3 was really going to get released on the PS3 too. I'm still thinking, but surely i'll be getting a PS3 some day, hopefully in less than a month.

My song Happy Sack is retro, and i've also made a retro song for a game of said SolarFireFox, but the game was unfinished so i never released the song anywhere.

EDIT: lol no thinking for me i got a PS3 just three hours ago!

Hi Zohnar,

I haven't made any retro songs before but I think that I will learn it. And I have both, LBP2 and LBPV though I didn't do music for the Vita yet. I think that with Wouter and me you have already two top-class musicians in your boat, maybe some others will follow!

Many greetinigs, Jürgen
