Very interesting idea. I would suggest a couple of things though

1. Work on giving the stage an overall visual theme. It's very "bare boned," and lacks some charm.

2. All of the stickers you collect are all named "A Photo." This could make it potentially difficult to distinguish between them as you collect more. You should name you're stickers, so the player doesn't confuse them ("Sticker #1" for example).

3. Try to make your own characters. This may be a personal annoyance of mine, but I really don't care for the characters that are just the sackboy cutouts.

It's a very interesting idea, I just think you can improve in the execution somewhat.

Edit: BTW, did you make those prizes at the end, or did you get them elsewhere?

thanks. It is my first level so that my excuse for its barron appearance! lol
my other level which is only a tester is a bit more filled out in that department!
Naming the stickers is great, didnt even know you could! I will number them in episode 2. and number where they go. and for you ... I will make a fresh character, can it be anything?? lol

I made the pudsey, the others I picked up somewhere but I liked um!

thanks for taking time to play my game.. and for the feedback.

have you got a level you want me to look at??

When it comes to the character, I'm not really picky. I just don't care for the sackboy cutout. It really should only serve as a placeholder to be replaced later for a better character design. When you make your own characters, it adds a lot more charm to the level.2009-02-17 02:46:00

Hey, I hope I have the right thread to post my feedback on "Teleport - 4 levels in 1"

This level (er... levels) was a lot of fun. The visuals were clean, and you definately put a lot of thought into each section.

Here is my feedback for each section:

Level 1
Running on the conveyor - this is COMPLETELY opinion and just occurred to me while playing this section - it seems this would be more fun if the conveyors were slower when you were running against the grain of the conveyor. It seemed like I had to do a bunch of jumping to go forward. Just a TAD slower.
Grabbing the balloon at the end - I missed getting on the ledge at the top and fell back down. This, of course, immediately prevented me from finishing. Maybe an emitter that emits the balloon so that a new one would appear each time you get near it.

Level 2
I have 3 suggestions here:
Since you're trying to get through a maze with the paintinator, it occurs to me this would make a really good race. Just a suggestion.
The look of the green dissolve material could be improved by stickering them.
When shooting the platforms to lower them so you can ride them up - I THINK a camera angle pointing up could make this nicer looking. Then you could see the platforms before you get to them.

Level 3
Don't really have any suggestions here. It was pretty looking, fun to play.

Level 4
Now THIS area was cool! I have never seen this specific mechanic in LBP - it may have been done, but I certainly haven't played anything like it. Once I figured out that I could match the sticker pattern to the surrounding area to make it through a hidden maze - wow! Very cool!

Anyway, that's my feedback. Loved the game. Interestingly, when I first went in it was 3 stars (which was definately not deserved). Each time I went in I put a 5 star rating. The last time I noticed your star rating went up to 4. Pretty neat.

Ok, I played all 4 sections of your level...

The first one:

I found that it was possible to fall between the conveyor slats and get squished. I liked the conveyor section though.

I never got the sticker in this section because of where you put it... I hated the spinning things in the campaign part of the game... And I didn't even try in this level... I guess no teleporter for me.

I was able to go through the teleporter somehow without being blown up... I had to walk through it,and it took a lot of back and forth... (I think it was an error somehow).

I liked the maze paintinator section. But at the Chili, I think you should add a camera to let people know where to look. The default camera doesn't show where to shoot.

And I discovered that at the train section (where you ride the thing and go by the fire blocks, that you can actually just stand there, and you will slide under the fire w/ nothing happening to you... Not sure if that is what you had in mind.

Not much to say about the love section... it was fun.

The sticker map section was a cool idea. Though it was hard to figure out where you are.

Appearance-wise, I found the yellow a little bold for me personally... But that is just me.

Gave you 4 stars and a heart.

ok... level 1, your the third person to suggest slowing down the conva, I was going for it to be challenging but I think I will slow it down a touch, I will sort the balloon thing at the end too.

level 2, I will be making a whole level based on the maze and I love the idea of making it a race so thanks. and Ive just played the level again and I do need a camera angle on those platforms. guess i never thought of it as i knew where they where.

level 4, thanks ive not seen it b4, i just got the idea and thats how I got into creating. try my first level, you should of picked up the key for it.

thanks for bumping up my star rating. Glad you liked my level. Big thanks

yea the location of that sticker is tricky but the teleport took alot of work for me so i wanted people to work hard to get it!! hmmmmm i will make the fire blocks bigger so you cant go under, cheers for the heads up on that.
I agree withe yellow being a bit much but everytime I change part of it something falls apart! The level is actually very full and very very fragile so its just something I will keep in mind for my next level.

Thanks for playing and for the feedback, I will play your level now
