Futurama Movies

Archive: 14 posts

Have you seen them? they recently released the fourth/last of the series.. heres what I thought...

Futurama: Bender's big Score- Was pretty good, not bad at all really.. tied up alot of loose ends in the series, and even made the dog episode not so bloody sad.

Futurama: The Beast with a Billion Backs- Wasn't too bad... Kinda slow at parts, but overall a pretty good addition to the series.

Futurama: Bender's Game- UMM crap on a cracker, Well not horrible I guess, but there's better things to spend your money on.

Futurama: Into the Wild Green Yonder - Pretty awesome. My favorite of the four movies. pretty good way to end the series, I was pleased.

Have you seen the movies? So what did you think? were you a fan of the show?

I have seen the first two.

I thought Bender's Big Score was a very cool story. Very nice and I loved how it tied up loose ends in the series as you said (oh and bringing back the dog was such a fantastic idea). Overall a fantastic futurama piece.

The Beast with a Billion Backs i found quite slow and boring. Compared to the first one it did not seem like a futurama episode. maybe just me but yeah.

Bender's Game I have not seen yet.

Into the Wild Green Yonder I also have not seen yet.

And a side note, the first movie was played in some countries as four episodes. The second one was not.

Your link does not work for me. Is this a problem for anyone else?

I was a great fan of the show. I hated Simpsons, but Futurama was just awesome.
But as of yet, I've only seen Bender's Big Score, it was pretty awesome.

By the way, they plan on showing all the movies on TV eventually as Series five, 3 Half-an-hour episodes for each movie.

I've only seen the first two, and I thought it was an excellent comeback to the show. The reason I haven't seen the last two is because of lovefilm! *awaiting on your order*

I'd prefer not to reveal my age.

Also, I heard one of the films come with a cutscene pack from the game or something? They made it into an episode? Anybody have a clue which one?
Also the link doesn't work for me

Just watched the last movie last week. Gotta say, I am a HUGE futurama fan and was thinking of making this thread myself haha.

Be warned, there will be minor and major spoilers ahead, but i will make the major ones hidden. Just a warning.
Okay, my mini mini reviews:

Benders Big Score: An awesome come back to the series. Seriously. It has many subtle (and sometimes in your face) references. It goes straight to the love/hate relationship of Leela and Fry (one of my favourite aspects of the show) and ends in a real nice way too. While it can get pretty complicated, it just means it's fun to watch over and over to spot things you may of missed before. Major Spoilers: The fact that Leela fell in love with a more mature Fry shows that at some point they must get together. It's lovely. The story really does move fast towards the end and it's pretty exciting to watch. It's also pretty interesting that a major event happens right at the end of the episode - the universe starts to split apart. 9.4/10

Beast With A Billion Backs: This is a direct continuation of the last movie, but you don't need to of seen the first one at all. While this isn't as good as the first one, it's still brings alot of laughs along the way and has a pretty neat story too. It's a little disappointing that they don't touch on Fry and Leela's relationship, but it's forgiveable as Futurama always does that. Plus there is another love interest that the whole planet is in with anyway. That's where the gate to the other universe comes in. 8.6/10

Benders Game - Probably my least favourite of all 3. While most of the movie is pretty interesting, especially towards the 3/4 mark... all of a sudden the movie becomes a whole different thing, a dungeons and dragons meets lord of the rings story, which to be honest just didn't go well. Throughout the episode there was a fantasy theme when bender was around (he let his imagination 'turn on' and became obsessed, and couldn't tell what was reality and fantasy), it was dissapointing to see this twist. It lasts about the length of a whole episode, so it's a shame they just didn't save the idea for a seperate episode of it's own. Nevertheless, it still brings a few laughs throughout the episode, and notably all Dark Matter in the universe is destroyed. 8.3/10

Beyond The Wild Green Yonder - Probably my favourite movie. Unlike a few of the other movies, this one is pretty consistant throughout in its story and flows pretty nicely. It also replaces Dark Matter fuel with Whale Oil. While I already guessed who the 'bad guy' was about 20 mins before it was revealed it was still great fun to watch. Early on, Fry manages to get a ring stuck into his head, and he then magically learns how to read minds (it was never explained either which sucked), and once again he is the only guy who can save the universe (the first time being when the niblonians took him to destroy the flying brains). There is a hint at Fry and Leelas relationship throughout which is nice as well. A very interesting point is that we also learn about the number 9 guy. For the big fans out there, you may of noticed him in seasons 1 and 2. He is usually just in the crowd, but it's cool that he finally has some importance. The ending is also perfect for the series. I won't reveal what happens, but it could go on and be very exciting, or end there forever and still be satisfying. We'll just have to find out 9.8/10
pic of no.9 guy:

The origin of the number 9 guy is that at first they were going to have a system in the series where everyone has numbers representing their status. This was scrapped, but they kept this guy in the show for a few seasons.

lol yea..

but go get the last one, its definatly worth it..

may want the first 2 also.. there kindof important...

the third one isnt very important to the story, except that it explains why the ship runs on whale oil instead of darkmatter... not very important. Kinda erratic too.. seemed like somone wrote the first half, then somone else wrote the second half.

Oh crap LOL thats Hilarious.. Love the Irony in that...
Look at my profile... then look at my Infractions... Piracy.. Ironic huh??
