Starship Axxilith is a top-down twin-stick shooter that has you blasting enemies across 10 playable missions with one of over 30 different unlockable weapons. The gameplay is straight-forward, destroy all of the incoming enemies and the mission is complete. Completing a mission on any difficulty will unlock the next one, and you will earn a star for completing each mission on each difficulty so you can track your progress. There are a few additional features to this level. When you kill an enemy, there is a chance that they will either drop a health pickup, an armor crate or a weapon crate. Health pickups are self-explanatory - on pick up, they provided an instant restore to your health. Armor crates on the other hand will slightly increase your maximum health, thus making you more damage resistant on future missions, however, they will only apply their effects upon completing the mission. If you fail, you will lose everything that was collected in that mission. Weapon crates will unlock a random weapon or afterburner for you to use in later missions. The level of weapon you'll acquire will be determined by which mission you're playing, and on what difficulty. Using these simple mechanics, Starship Axxilith has massive replay value - which is necessary as there are countless hours of gameplay before you completely beat the game. The level uses an autosave feature that will store data for your mission completion progress, the weapons you have acquired, and your current armor level. Here's a gameplay photo.
