Build the Pyramid
Archive: 8 posts
Lots of other pyramid ideas floating around the net. Here's mine. Let me know if someone's posted this already. It's basically a competitive level and some of it will depend on the options the game is shipped with. More challenging than 'creative' but could be fun. Build the Pyramid 2-4 players - 2 teams Competitive Each team gets a set of irregular squares and rectangles and one triangle. The goal is the build your pyramid before the other team using team work to lift the bigger blocks. First team to complete it wins. You could place a divider in the middle with the spawn on top to keep the teams from cheating but I think it would be more fun to run over and steal their blocks. | 2008-08-20 05:29:00 Author: docpac Posts: 601 |
Man, I thought about this the other day, but instead of 2v2, as a puzzle for a level. Build the pyramid and a door opens. Was on that Egypt thread, I think... Anyway, cool idea. We need more 2v2 stuff! Or even better... 1v3! | 2008-08-20 05:42:00 Author: aer0blue Posts: 1603 |
Nice idea! Also, all the blocks should be placed in the middle between the two teams so the teams would really have to fight to get them. I'm not sure if there is some way for the CPU to tell that a team has made a pyramid though... The teams could probably build anything and be considered the winner unless there is some of 'shape recognition' feature, which I severely doubt. I just thought of an idea but it doesn't have necessarily have to do with pyramid building... Like your idea, there are two teams & a variety of blocks are in the center. A timer starts & the teams are forced to get blocks to their side & be placed on their side of a scale. When the timer goes off, the team that has the side of the scale that is leaning down (having the most weight upon it) is the winner. Some blocks would be heavier than others, which would make the teams compete more for those pieces. There are no limits on what team can do: they can stand on the scales if they want (although their weight is not nearly enough to win & that would be an unwise choice if they actually want to win), they can go to the other side of the scale (although the two sides of the scale are fairly far away from each other), & there is no 'cheating'. I'll post a picture if I feel like it. Also, doesn't this belong in the 'Event Submission' thread? I don't think it belongs in the event submission thread... Anyway, you know how some stickers activate triggers when you glue the stickers on a specified shape or something, right? Well, finish building the pyramid and stamp the sticker on the finished piece! Or something like that. Of course, the sticker would have to be a triangle. | 2008-08-20 05:56:00 Author: aer0blue Posts: 1603 |

Yeah, good idea, but I still can't think of any way that the computer could know that the team actually built a pyramid instead of just any other object. EDIT: Woah. I just thought of an another minigame: Again, teams would have to battle for blocks, so I will not explain that again for brevity's sake. This time, each team will have a goal that they have to get to: except it is now really high in the air. So instead weight, the teams are going for height. Haha, it would be really annoying when the teams knock each other's towers down, so the Sackpeople will have to be really careful to make a sturdy tower with a good foundation. They could defend their towers by maybe building cannons to fend off attackers? Wow! We really need a Minigame thread! | 2008-08-20 05:58:00 Author: Unknown User |
That one sounds good. Knocking off the opposing tower sounds annoying (for the other team) though... This could also be done 1v1v1v1. ;D! | 2008-08-20 06:04:00 Author: aer0blue Posts: 1603 |
lol y make it a competion? it would be hard enough as a puzzle... | 2008-08-20 06:10:00 Author: 12454522412412 Posts: 779 |

If I really wanted to, I could separate the towers so there is no interference, but to be honest, I really like the cannon idea. It reminds me of Tower Defense games: http://www.newgrounds.com/game/defensegames | 2008-08-20 06:13:00 Author: Unknown User |
