Little Dead Space 2

Little Dead Space 2 by Darknessbear, the same guy who did Little Dead Space.

It starts off where the last one ended, and you can see he/she has taken the last one and pushed it. Like the first one this isn't a great platforming/puzling experience, the enjoyment is in the level of detail and the scripted story moments. The visuals have been knocked up a notch (which is saying a lot as the first one looked great). The layout of the level is far more complex and you get the sense you are actually exploring the ship. The monsters look especially good. You could say its more of the same but if you enjoyed the first one well then thats a good thing right?

If you get a chance you should check it out. This level is a mini tutorial on how to polish a level until you can see you smiling sackboy grin in it!

Sounds cool, the first one made me feel like I was watching a movie(and I like movies). I hope this one has a similar feel.2009-02-13 07:11:00

I played it last night - very detailed. Fans of the first one will like this one too. His creature design is very cool and creepy. The thing I really liked about it is that I have Dead Space and he has moments/areas that anyone who played the original will immediately recognize. I like that he introduced the no air areas and the transitions between the ship and the no air zones is done very cleverly. Overall a very fun level to play and an even more detailed and interesting environment than the first one. A must play (at least once.)2009-02-13 19:29:00

I tried out little dead space 2 a couple of days ago. In my opinion it was even better then the first one! The whole level was awesome and the detail was especially awesome. It was a great experience, but I got stuck at that part where you fight the elelectric tentacle thingy. Although its still awesome.2009-02-14 22:02:00

I love this level a heck of a lot. I can see parts based on the game, which are pretty good.

Despite this, I think it was ruined by the paintinator. I'm kind of getting sick of that gun, it appears way too much in my opinion and should be used for less levels.

Yes, same here. It didn't seem the same shooting a paintball gun around the USG Ishimura . The part with the tentacle creature pulling away the crew member was very cinematic but it all just didn't seem as good as the first. (still deserves a heart though).

i think the wow factor has worn off a bit. when the 1st was published it was one of, if not the most detailed and polished levels available. however since then the good creators have improved and many of them make levels that look as good, or better than lbds and they tend to include gameplay, which lbds does not.

don't get me wrong it's still a 5 star level, but unlike the 1st level, it doesn't show us anything that we haven't seen before.

I tend to agree with what has been said here. Regarding the paintinator, it has its place, but really, it is a cheap way to make a boss. *OMG!! Wud be gr8 2 hav a Pw0nag3 b0s$ heR3!!111* *chucks in paintinator, paintswitch with extremely high health and a plasma emiter on a wobble bolt, attatched to a giant snowman.2009-03-21 09:18:00
