MAZED AND CONFUSED now a tri-pack!

Archive: 5 posts

Just to let everyone know, my popular MAZED AND CONFUSED level now contains 2 KEYS, one for MAZED AND CONFUSED : MASTER OF MAZES, and the other for MAZED AND CONFUSED : LA FIESTA. Both these levels only have a single large rotating maze in them, but those mazes are packed with point-bubble emitters and the levels make for really fun point-competition type gameplay. But you need to withstand the time consuming original Mazed and Confused and obtain the 2 keys near the end in order to get to the bonus rounds. I hope you all have as much fun with these as my wife and I did. My PSN is mindphaser74. Adios amegos!2009-02-11 20:53:00

Okay, just played this one.

PROS:

Some great maze layouts
The grabbable-spinning mazes were definately challenging.
The time challenge definately adds some replay value. I think people who enjoy a good maze will try it again after learning the mazes to see how fast they can get through.

CONS

By the time I got to the third maze I was done. It's not that it isn't fun, but the maze was fairly complex and I couldnt' see very far away from me, so it was difficult to tell if I was going in the wrong direction - but also whether I was backtracking.

A possible solution could be to hide point bubbles at dead ends so I could see where I had been. Up to you, though

All in all I really enjoyed it.

ok - played this last night and have a few things to comment on.

I liked your sense of humor at the beginnings of the mazes. I made it through the first three - no problem. Then something strange happened. I got tossed out of the opening I came in from on the fourth maze and thrown into the finish gate from the 3rd maze. Guess what - the timer stopped. So In theory it's possible to cheat the timer if you pop into the maze, then pop out and run to the end gate of the previous timer. This got me to thinking.... are there any other ways to cheat the level? I found that if you go in the front of the mazes (at least the 3rd and 4th one) you can pop in - get it rotating, then pop out the back and finish the timer without actually finishing the maze portion. The other option of cheating is that you can hop out on the left side of the maze on top of the elevated floor if you time it just right and run behind the mazes to the finish.

I didn't set out to cheat the level and I did go through each maze legitimately to gauge how long each one took. I'm with CCubbage on this one too in terms of the length of the level. The first three were fun and I enjoyed the challenge of the mazes up to the third one. Then I hit the fourth one and was so visually burned out it started to feel really overwhelming. I'm not saying the mazes were bad - on the contrary they are really nicely designed and challenging - but so many in a row started burning me out.

The vertical maze at the end of the level is it's own level imo. To have to keep jumping after the other spinning mazes was just too much. I think I spent about 40 minutes getting through the level.

A really great concept and some of the most intricate mazes I've run around in but in the end it was just too overwhelming for me.

thanks for your feedback Morgana25. When I made this level a while ago (was one of the first I made) I never got much feedback. So didn't know about the cheating option, it's unfortunate and I may look to fix it. At the time it was more of a concept level with some dialogue to help you out. MAZED AND CONFUSED II : Still Spining (the sequal) was built entiry different. It is 1 Jumbo rotating maze with 13 obstacles inside, 13 switches, point bubble emitters, AND a Big Boss in the center of the maze (and some humour near the end). IMO MAC II makes MAC I look like child's play (and you can't cheat in MAC II either). So if you'ld like to see possably one of the more trickier rotating maze levels out there, you should give MAC II : Still Spinning a try. PS Below the Root Ch.2 will be ready tomorrow (have been telling people this all day and can't remember if I mentioned it to you) hopefully if everything goes my way today. Thanks again

Oh yeah don't forget the two bonus levels you unlock by playing the original MAC, thay are a lot of fun no matter how you cut it.
