I recently read the Odyssey in school, and I was thinking, "how cool would it be to play through that in LBP?" And then, the ideas came flowing. I figured that I would have to start with Troy, and then move on up to the Cyclops. Then I'd figure that I would make the Cyclops a boss. So on and so forth, until it ends with the killing of the suitors at Ithaca. I realize that this would probably have to take up more than one level, so I decided to divide them up like this: Level 1 - Troy and the Land of the Lotus Eaters Level 2 - Polyphemus the Cyclops, Circe, and the Sirens Level 3 - the Journey to Hades to consult Tiresias and the sea monster Scylla Level 4 - the Nymph Calypso along with the return home and the killing of the suitors Like it? | 2008-08-19 22:53:00 Author: Code1337 Posts: 3476 |
I love greek mythology and think it is a very interesting topic to base a game or level in LBP on. I didn't read the Oddysey or the Iliad, I tried to once but never got into them, I'll read them at some stage. But it is a very good theme for a game. The diversity of the creatures and gods, the violence and the sort of cinematic quality of Greek mythology suits gaming very well. Good luck making this, sounds great . | 2008-08-19 23:02:00 Author: Burrich Posts: 1018 |

Thanks man, I enjoy Greek mythology aswell. It'll be a big undertaking, so I'm hoping that some people in here are willing to help me. | 2008-08-19 23:07:00 Author: Code1337 Posts: 3476 |
I like the idea of greek mythology as well i think it would be more fun if you used the creatures but made your own story your own quest through wild adventures killing greek monsters and saving cardboard cutouts of greek helpless damsels in distress. but none the less your idea is a good one i just think you should add a little spin to make it your own. | 2008-08-20 14:18:00 Author: Cartoonguy Posts: 234 |

i thought it was a trilogy... time to google it. i guess ur right... nothing about a trilogy... You were thinking about Lotr or something... The Illiad and the Odyssey are two epic poems about the Trojan War. (did you know that's were we get the word 'epic' from?) I'm thinking about making a level based on Troy. It would be interesting to make and explore. | 2008-08-21 04:19:00 Author: Code1337 Posts: 3476 |
