New Content Priorities

Archive: 195 posts

Thanks to all the users who contributed ideas so far. I've got a pretty good list of the kinds of additional content you guys would like to see. In order to better understand just how much you'd like different kinds of content please vote in this thread as follows :

- Choose your top 3 most important types of content
- List them in order of importance
- Avoid discussion in this thread (to make it a little easier for me to summarise - thanks)

We're keen to bring you the kind of content you want to see more of, so let's be hearing it. Your choices are :

Accessories
Background themes (the animated backdrop to levels)
Costumes
Gadgets (like the Paintinator)
Levels (designed by Mm on various themes)
Materials (different kinds of wood, metal, stone etc)
Music/sound effects
Objects (like the orange, soccer ball and so on)
Stickers (particularly "effect" type stickers such as bullet holes, or numbers and letters)
Tools (new switches, sensors etc)

Absent from this list is additional functionality - items such as liquids, image importing, creating online and so forth - we've got plenty of new functionality planned for the future, but they represent a huge amount of development so shouldn't be included in this list.		2009-02-10 16:39:00

1. Tools- gravity slider, ability to turn objects into water. Water could be tweaked to either be a danger or not. Then there should be a tweakable air limit; it could make for some interesting challenges. Another idea I have is to make material bendy like in the pre-made objects menu.

2. Music & sound effects- more instruments e.g. electric guitar and the bass should be a bit louder in my oppinion. More magic mouth sound effects would be useful.

3. Background themes- ability to create your own background and save them. I think this would be interesting but I'm not sure how it would work e.g. extra layers that sackboy can't get to or something like that.		2009-02-10 21:27:00

1. Music - especially more 'guitary' tracks or sounds, music levels at the moment are only really limited to piano.

2. Levels - The Mm levels are always amazing and never fail to impress!

What's more important to me clearly is the stuff that opens up the creativity the most and enhances the gameplay (opening it even more)

1- Tools and Gadjets should be top priority.

2- Music and new Materials would come right after.

I would really like to see USEFULL sticker packages. Per example a package with a 256 color palette of stickers or 64 colored stickers if 256takes too much space.
We should also have a set of basic shapes of stickers coming in multiple colors so we can really assemble stickers to create logos and paterns.

I agree with that list, but I would like to see liquids and image importing be on it as well, then I'll be quite a happy bunny.

Tools - hopefully one which will highlight an error in your level - the type of error which doesn't allow other people to play your level even after it is published, and even after hours of trying to find out what it is exactly that doesn't allow your level to be seen.

1. sortable LIST VIEW of search results option.

this isn't on your list but sure everyone would love this addition to the game. The planets are cool but very clumbsy when you are looking for a specific level.

2. Tools (specifically an eye dropper tool under the material changer os you can pick up materials and change easily, thats one i had wanted the other day. could access simial to changing gas color. could hit the button and icon changes to dropper from circle and back after selecting new material)

2-Materials, the more the merrier, in creating different levels: I hate how a lot of levels are very similair.
3-Levels, they really give good inspiration for us!

Also, I know you have plenty of stuff planned, but it would be cool if we could take circle shaped pictures to use for creating badges etc. And a rectangular sized zone (like camera zones) on sensor switches and mag switches would come in very handy.

1. when I play 4 player the game is really slow and infact useless. I have a good connection too!

Personally, I'd love to see a way to record music and sounds for use in making stages.

I'd really enjoy seeing more:

1-Materials(more materials that look like actual rocks please!) =D
2-Tools
3-Levels(that come in packs such as the MGS pack)

And something that isn't really a type. Copyable Levels. It'd be nice to make copyable levels, that you can't publish. For instance, if the MGS pack was like this its levels would all be copyable, so you could kinda of get an idea of how things are made and learn more.
