F4F Abusers

Archive: 6 posts

OK, I'm sure I'm not the only one, but there have been times where I have left feedback on a F4F thread and not gotten return feedback. I remember reading that, if you find yourself in that situation, you can report these people and they will be labeled a "F4F abuser" or something along those lines. My problem with that is, believe it or not, I don't want to be an *** and give someone a label. I'd feel like a rat. What I feel should be implemented, if at all possible, is maybe a points system for F4F abusers. One complaint wouldn't automatically label a used as an abuser, but after a predetermined number of "complaint points" had been accumulated, then, at that point, would that user be labeled. I would feel more comfortable posting a complaint on a user if I knew that my one issue wouldn't potentially destroy that users reputation, but may actually motivate that user to be a bit more reciprocating. I am, by no means, a computer expert, so I do not know how easy or difficult something like that would be to implement, but as a user here, I feel like it may be something beneficial to look into. What do you guys think?2009-02-10 16:01:00

Have you sent the invidual a pm asking when they will review your level since you reviewed their F4F level? I have read posts where people missed a review and didn't realize this. I would first say, make direct contact with the person you are awaiting feedback from via a pm and see if they respond. It could be an innocent mistake. If they fail to give you feedback after that, then I would think you can give them a bad reputation "dissapprove" because they failed to give you F4F feedback. Try working it out wiht the invidual before dinging or escalating would be my advice.2009-02-10 16:13:00

I agree with Mattrick. Although before contacting them, I'd check their post history, they might not come on LBPC every day, so if they've not posted for a couple of days it might not be that they're ignoring you, but simply that they haven't been back online yet.2009-02-10 16:23:00

Just to enlighten, I severely doubt that one missed returned feedback will earn someone the F4F abuser title. So by reporting someone, you should not feel bad if it's a legitimate report. It would surely take a one or two more before said user gets himself that title. Of course I would suggest the above stategies first, like contacting the user in question 2009-02-10 16:33:00

That is actually really good to know, I was unaware that it already worked like that. I usually do contact other users through a PM but their have been times when it doesn't really work, but now that I know this I won't feel bad reporting users that abuse the system after, of course, giving that user ample time to respond and after attempts to contact them. Thanks guys!

Sorry for the confusion. I'll add clarification on reporting F4F Abusers in the F4F thread, just to keep things clear.

EDIT: Added. (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=p=131656#post131656) Please follow the steps listed if you encounter a problem in the future. Thanks for the feedback.
