Escape From Skull Island

In this level you start in a cave and you have to try and make your way to a exit. The Cave is filled with treasure, Skeleton Pirates, Traps, and secret passages.

The brown color dirt is what the boat will be on and will be disguised with water so you dont see the wheels on the boat or the road. I know there are no planes for water but you can make cardboard designs that look just like waves and stuff. I want to have bumps in the ground so the boat moves up and down with the waves. In the picture shown is only half the level. The other half i want to be at sea where there will be giant sea monsters that you have to use the cannons on the ship to destroy them. The island itself i want to be in the shape of a skull. There will also be mini bosses in the cave ranging from giant rats and bats all the way to pirates and there will be 3 Main bosses, the Pirate ship captain, and 2 sea monsters, a serpent and octopus. If anyone wants to help or add ideas please feel free to do so. Im going to split the cave up into sections so if people want to make a section themselves they can. I also want to use Marino idea where you guys get to be some of the bosses and enemies or even friendly npc's you find in the cave that help you escape. Here is a picture of the boat

Im hoping to put a boss in the eye, the giant black circle on the first picture.

Edit: Ill have a huge update in about 30mins-1hour on this levels story, time line on what happens through out the level and a more detailed map of the island and where some of the mini bosses are located.

I just had an idea that somewhere on the main deck there can be a grappling hook that goes down into the ocean & collect treasure that is floating on the bottom of the sea. I'm sure this can be achieved somehow.

Ok, to get back on topic, does anyone have any ideas for what we could put either on the island or on the ship?

What do you think about the Skull Island pictures I showed? Is that good for a guideline?

I reccomend lighting like swinging lanterns thruout the cave...barely visible...

and then outside on the boat...a wise craking parrot...

I think Darkelite has a great level on his hands whether he uses are ideas or not...:hero:

The level sounds great and I lile the sound of things to come.

as for the pictures of skull island I think the top one looks closest to what your trying to achieve

yes Noonian you can be a pirate guarding treasure , and i love your ideas and will use them i would like this to be a community project. Sorry was at diner wile everyone was posting ideas and heres a updated map,

Feel free to choose apart that you would like to work on and dont forget about the boat rooms up top that you can also choose from.

EDIT: I havent even started on the sea part but i want to have it so at the end a rock punctures a hole in the ammo, cannon room of the boat and the boat catches on fire and crashes into a island and ill use Noonian idea of there being tons of treasure on the island

EDIT 2: the map does not show normal enemies i want to leave that up to who ever designs that part of the cave to put them in or decide what they are.

I think at the beginning the Sackperson should wake up in some kind of prisoner camp & have to somehow sneak past guards? This IS ESCAPE from Skull Island after all.

Also, I would like a section of the cave but I haven't decided which part yet..

EDIT:
I just remembered that someone needs to make a flag design for the ship.

I can't draw so I'll let the artistic people on here try.

I can see this level shaping up to be something special...

I know this is minor...but for immersion sake...I suggest having a water drop emitter inside the skull near the mouth/exit to the ship...pleas god let there be water drop sound effects...lol

Do you have a flag design or any ideas for one?
I can't think of anything. Should it be the LBPC logo or something else?
I don't feel like using the standard Skull & Cross flag. I want it to be orignal.

I want to be a friendly drunk pirate locked up inside the ship I wouldn't really do anything I am just there cause it would be fun to be a drunk locked up pirate in a level is all.
also about that treasure pick up from below the sea I am pretty sure it could be done by a lever and some chain goin down acting as if it is doing something then a spring loaded chest pops up and whatever else you would want.

I want to see how easy it is to create but i would like to try my hand at some skull pirate enemies of course if that doesn't work in your plan i will use them in my levels.

Haha, drunk pirates are always fun!
I think the grappling hook would have to be a claw that squeezed the treasure box from the side picking it up. However, it would even better if there are magnets in-game.

Yeah, I can foresee tons of skeleton enemies in this level. :eek:

In the ship you could also make it sink to under the sea and a sea adventure begins! It would be cool nice level by the way

no don't get me wrong its a good idea but if what we planed so far is a hit we could make little expansion packs to expand the story or even a sequel and leave the first ending with a cliff hanger where you finish the level but the end of the level makes you really want to know what happens next.

Nice idea...

If I was to be in this, I think maybe as a standard enemy or even a miniboss. You'll see a rock in a section of the stage, but getting close will make a skeleton or something pop out. You'll need to jump on my head, but I will fire fireballs or something at you then go under the rock, so you need to jump on my head when I am firing fireballs.
