http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d64/ConfusedCartman/3265875721d294e76822oel0-1.jpgAfter extensive work and playtesting, Edam, the new patch for LittleBigPlanet, is out as of 9PM UK time. At 23mb, it's a sizeable update, but it remedies nearly all of the issues we've been encountering up to this point. This means we'll be able to continue creating without worry, which is always a good thing. According to MediaMolecule's blog, it contains the following bugfixes: Failed to save profile? message not being displayed when a users profile is full. Object Capture Bug: switch connectors being deleted when an object is captured. Failed to load profile issue :where the user is thrown out to the XMB due to a texture that is not registered in their profile being present in their pod. Text not displaying in the text chat window. Slow rewind due to moderation check. Save file corruption which caused the game to crash when placing any object in an emitter in any level. Hop on PSN, pop in LittleBigPlanet, and download the update so you can get playing along with the rest of us! What happened to my post? Wasn't there already a thread about this?! DX There were a few threads about this. We only need one for the front page though. The thread you are referring to might be this one (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=8606)... | 2009-02-10 07:46:00 Author: Elbee23 Posts: 1280 |

Sam_Protag's post about the update... not really a fix? (http://forums.littlebigworkshop.com/lbp/board/message?board.id=pod&thread.id=35677&view=by_date_ascending&page=14) Weak. "Meanwhile, we're glad to have this update out ahead of schedule but it should be noted that it is not the patch that fixes save game and full profile issues - it helps with the way you are informed of these problems being present, but the resolution is not due just yet. We don't expect the wait for the full fix to be lengthy, but we're hitting the problems one step at a time." | 2009-02-10 10:21:00 Author: cdubb024 Posts: 247 |

At least now the game will tell you when its about to not save... All in all, our gaming habits will have to stay the same. We'll have to continue to keep our profiles clean. | 2009-02-10 10:56:00 Author: RangerZero Posts: 3901 |
i was playing a ( very good by the way ) remake of metroid on NES with a dude and the game locked up for just one second completey on both of us. then it was fine for maybe five seconds before it locked up for one second again. it's never happend to either of us and i don't know what caused it. just saying. | 2009-02-10 11:20:00 Author: BasketSnake Posts: 2391 |

Just throwing this out there - I don't know if this is new or an existing bug, and I haven't played with it enough to know how extensive it is: I have an object I built that has a stiff 0 length rod attached between 2 pieces of matter. When I save the object (OR try to just copy it) and place it in the level again the rod becomes detached consistently. | 2009-02-10 13:26:00 Author: CCubbage Posts: 4430 |

here we go indeed. But I'm prepared for alot of new bugs. MM released an extremely buggy game and they introduced new bugs with each patches. I'm not counting on Edam to be an exception to that "rule". I just hope it won't annoy me at some point. I still love creating level but I know one day the annoyance could overtake my pleasure of creating. . | 2009-02-10 14:22:00 Author: RangerZero Posts: 3901 |
Awesome, so many of these glitches have been frustrating me for so long. Unfortunately I know like 5 that werent mentioned here. All in good time I suppose. | 2009-02-10 14:57:00 Author: Hexagohn Posts: 335 |
This probably just takes care of the worst of the worst bugs, which is a good thing. And like Sam mentions (thx cdubb024), there are more fixes to come... That's actually quite encouraging to hear him say that in that way, the understanding I get out of it is that they want the profile is too full issue to go away altogether! Good news to my ears! | 2009-02-10 16:07:00 Author: KAPBAM Posts: 1348 |
I haven't had any problems with the rods since the update. I'm still getting the profile message after the update but I do have stuff in my community folder so I think that might still be why. I did notice last night that I was having trouble with pistons. I had two magnetic switches attached to two pistons and I was getting red wires while in directional mode. I restarted the game and it worked ok but I thought it was a strange thing to see. Not sure if it's related to the update or not but that's the only thing that had changed since working on that section previously. | 2009-02-10 16:28:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |
i played with someone from the UK and he experienced the exact same thing | 2009-02-10 17:16:00 Author: BasketSnake Posts: 2391 |
umm I haven't noticed any bugs yet, Although there has been some strange happenings in create mode. Although I haven't taken much notice to them. | 2009-02-11 14:05:00 Author: Defaultsound Posts: 137 |
I got the failed to save profile bug still and had to delete objects to get it to stop popping up. Anyone else? The capture object glitch was fixed though | 2009-02-14 17:42:00 Author: mrjoeyman Posts: 217 |
Both did a great job. Will you be looking for new mods? (Not asking to be one myself) Wrong thread. | 2009-02-14 17:53:00 Author: moleynator Posts: 2914 |

it never fixed the thing where the message comes up 'Your Profile Cannot Be Saved...etc' Did it? | 2009-02-21 19:30:00 Author: BlackHairedGoon Posts: 160 |
it never fixed the thing where the message comes up 'Your Profile Cannot Be Saved...etc' Did it? My understanding is that they removed whatever bug that was preventing the warning message appearing for some users. Although I never experienced it first hand, some people had the warning message disabled. They would then continue to be filling up their profile without it being saved automatically because it was too full. This would often result in several hours work on a level being lost as it never saved the work. The profile size is still the same size, however, quite small and definitely finite. Hopefully it's reduced the incidence of people not having their work saved and not being aware of it though. I understand that MM are looking at ways to try and improve the overall size of the profile, but that is likely to be quite a while off in terms of implementation and bug testing. Overall though, it should be safer to work on levels. Even though we still need to wrestle with a small profile size, we can at least be more reassured that we will know when the autosave has stopped as there is too much information for it to save. | 2009-02-22 14:07:00 Author: Elbee23 Posts: 1280 |
