SA reviews "Facial Reconstruction"

.....whoa. Just, like, whoa. I can't review this level. Reviewing requires brain cells, all of which long since abandoned me after playing this level and will probably never return until I start watching/reading something that actually makes a lick of sense. There's not even much of a way to really describe this level other than: "Imagine you are Alice, falling down the rabbit hole, only before jumping down you tried to lick a Blue with Pink polkadots styled mushroom, which you then proceeded to snort as well. After reaching the bottom of the rabbit hole, you decide you would rather wrap your shirt around your feet and decide to wear your shoes on your ears, and everywhere you go you bark in Vietnamese. Every 27 seconds you decide to tell the world that the day is Tuesday even though it clearly any day but Tuesday by trying to explain that just because the day doesn't happen to be Tuesday doesn't mean it has an equal chance of not being Caturday. After telling the world about Tuedy Tuesday, you decide to climb out of the rabbit hole and proceed to vomit up everything to the left of the future, after which you suddenly discover that your entire life takes place inside somebody's snow globe." Yeah, basically this level makes about as much sense as that. That, or maybe living in a desert made out of sugar instead of sand.....and having cacti made out of licorice. Point made, taken, and bulldosed into oblivion, this is a level that basically tests how far the human mind is willing to go before admitting to logical insanity, in the most childish way possible. Surprisingly enough, this level is actually very very fun, not to mention very well put together. Despite the appearance of coming out of the combination of Dr. Suess and Alice in Wonderland (and believe me, that's pretty ****ed up), it's a wonderfully orchestrated level that was made entirely for the purpose of being amazingly silly, and it does that job incredibly well. Don't assume for a bit that just because it carries the allure of a squirrel on crack that it isn't a fully composed well done level. In all honesty, it's the silliness that really makes this level shine in fabulous ways. It carries about as much absurd creativity as a level of Psychonauts and is equally as hilarious. Okay, maybe there isn't much of a challenge to the level, and maybe the design aspect gets slightly repetitive at times, but it shouldn't be looked down upon for those things since it has about the same level of awesome as 6 hours of Monty Python. Final Score: 8.5 / 10 (RESCORED) Please don't try to make sense of this level. I don't even think the creator can make sense of this level. Just let loose and enjoy it for the crazy brain twister it is. On a side note, I'm done for the weekend. G'night everybody. | 2009-02-09 07:21:00 Author: Shining Aquas Posts: 353 |
Oh man...this level was just so much fun. I think Ninja was drugged up during the entire creation process, so be ready for a mind boggling experience hahaha | 2009-02-09 08:42:00 Author: Neverynnal Posts: 374 |
Never, where in blazes have you been? I've been reviewing here with all the new people. Where'd you go? | 2009-02-09 09:18:00 Author: Shining Aquas Posts: 353 |
Hilarious review, man. You had me in hysterics reading it lol I always like how you review in an editorial style instead of a bullet point style. I'm glad it was fun to play... it's the only level I have that I think is fun for multiplayer, and intended to just run through jumping and scoring points. It got really slept on when I posted it. One thing to note - the wheel section was originally intended to be a Rube Goldberg thing like your level and go on for alot longer, but I was really just learning how to create and can't can't how many times I broke the wheel or destroyed every little nuance of all the set ups trying to get the wheel just to where the explosives ended up being. That first section probably took me longer to make than anything else I've created. I think when I decided to blow up the wheel, that's when I decided that this level was going to be free of any logic or intent. | 2009-02-09 13:27:00 Author: Unknown User |
SA- I can barely play LBP let alone review levels at this point in time. My semester is loaded with heavy reading courses and a whole crapload of essays. I'm in two 3rd year English classes, a 3rd year History class, and two 2nd year Psychology classes. A total of 13 freaking novels to read this semester as well. I'm just hooped for time and besides, I enjoy reading your colorful reviews and generally agree with your tastes. By the way, this was my favorite review yet. Your little 10 line speel at the beginning made me shoot energy drink through my nostrils...yeah it was painful and yeah I couldn't sleep that night. /sigh | 2009-02-09 21:36:00 Author: Neverynnal Posts: 374 |
