I made a ton of changes to my level...

Archive: 3 posts

After a lot of good constructive criticism, I went add made a lot of changes:

I fixed all the bugs they pointed out, and added a lot more detail and interest...

I made the challenging traps/puzzles not a pain...

And last but not least, I completely changed the ending, making it a lot more appropriate to the level..

I would love to hear what people think... And I always greatly appreciate constructive criticism.

Man, if I could give out an award for most improved level after feedback, THIS would be it.

I'm telling you, this level was polished all the way through. I enjoyed the puzzles, the scenery was a consistent stye throughout, and it was challenging but not TOO hard. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

You know, I have to give you a lot of credit - I honestly thought after the last barriage of feedback you got from myself and Maraz Matari, you would get frustrated. But you are one of the only recipients of hard feedback to go in and make everything right. I truly enjoyed this level.

It's possible I missed something, but everything at least appeared to work flawlessly.

The thing you need to ask yourself at this point is what audience you're going for. I think most people on this forum would really enjoy it, but it is probably going to get a little lower scores in the "real world" simply because it does have a challenge.

For instance, when the boat is rocking it can be tricky to jump up to get the paintinator. I personally like it this way, but many of the less skilled people in LBP community would get frustrated. Also, the part at the pyramid at the end where if you get too close the rocket can replace the paintinator. Takes a little practice, but I liked the puzzle element of this. Some others may not.

Regardless, I think you did a great job. I really enjoyed this level!

Just one small piece of advice, however: as a newer member you can get more feedback by using the feedback-for-feedback system. You could specify at the top of the post how MANY feedbacks you're willing to give if you don't have a lot of time.

Also, you may want to put the title of your game in the thread title. Having the title "I made a ton of changes to my level" is a turn off for potential people that would play it. Then, put an exciting description in the body of the first message on the thread.
