Paintball questions

Ok so I was doinking around in create mode the other day, and i captured a paintball, almost by accident, and ended up making a rapid fire paintball assault cannon... I know this has been done before, but theres more. What I wanted to do was make a paintball leathal. (didnt try the most obvious solution and just make it electric, bet that is the answer) soo what i did try (not sure why) is to stick the paint ball to a small piece of electric glass.. Yea it didnt work at all, it shoots then freezes the game whenever it hits somthing. Im away from LBP right now, just kindof currious about weather or not that would work, If you know if you can leathalize Paintballs let me know. | 2009-02-07 01:44:00 Author: Madafaku ![]() Posts: 738 |
In my latest project I have a pilotable vehicle that shoots paint balls and has paint balls fired back at it. How I work around the non-lethal problem is to have a hidden piece of explosive material attached to the paint switch on the vehicle. When the paint switch is used up (the enemies have shot it enough) then the whole thing explodes, killing the player inside. It's not necessarily a portable solution, but it's one way to work around the problem. ![]() | 2009-02-07 13:27:00 Author: Elbee23 ![]() Posts: 1280 |
hm when i tried activating a colorswitch with captured paintballs it didnt work at all does it only work when you emitt these balls or did i forget something....? 2topic: i think Mm didnt expect anyone to capture those paintballs, otherwise they would have told it... so maybe they are buggy ...pls post, when you find something new about it | 2009-02-07 21:37:00 Author: Barrid ![]() Posts: 50 |
err Little known fact, you can use both fire and electric on objects - including painballs Simply use the tools on them and re-capture them this is great for setting up challenges where you need the enemy to shoot stuff for you (e.g you dodge the bullets so they blwo open the door) Captured paintballs do trigger switches. Hope this helps | 2009-02-08 00:05:00 Author: Mrgenji ![]() Posts: 803 |

I encounter a bug thought with trying to kill brains with emitted painballs. When you capture it and put it up it works, but as soon as i was reloading that level later, the paintball was emitted by was always losing its "brain killing ability". Anyhow, this is kinda side topic but whatever, if you ever use paintballs to kill a brain, use a switch instead. . | 2009-02-08 04:11:00 Author: RangerZero ![]() Posts: 3901 |

including painballs Thats cool, wonder how it works in practice... Hopefully it burns you once and then splats, even if it is emitted at a really high speed. If it worked like that it could be used for pretty cool gameplay elements, they would be like plasma but with gravity, that doesn't kill you on the first hit and leaves a splat mark where it hits, including the sackboy. :kz: | 2009-02-09 13:47:00 Author: Marklin80 ![]() Posts: 458 |

When the paintball touches something it disappear and leaves a sticker on the stop, just like fire. | 2009-02-09 15:13:00 Author: RangerZero ![]() Posts: 3901 |
MrGenji has the best idea in my opinion. When you electrify a paintball its a one hit kill to a sackboy and the paintball still splatters. Fire is similar but it takes two shots and it splatters on impact as well | 2009-02-09 22:11:00 Author: King_Tubb ![]() Posts: 435 |

Great! ![]() Now i just need to whink out a way to make use of it ![]() In Sack's In The City I did use the paintballs as drop of waters from the ceiling of the sewer corridors. | 2009-02-10 11:06:00 Author: RangerZero ![]() Posts: 3901 |
Yeah i know about the capturing ![]() ![]() What about a scenario where you have to lure an auto aiming turret to shoot at a paint sensitive wall behind you... If you stand still outside the cover for to long you will get hit and die instead of the wall... | 2009-02-11 06:52:00 Author: Marklin80 ![]() Posts: 458 |
