Question on overwriting levels and using Save-As

Archive: 3 posts

So I know that when you overwrite an existing level when publishing, it keeps all the stats and hearts for that level. God knows this is necessary when tweaking and improving a published level.

But here's a question... If you were to make a COMPLETELY different level, from scratch, from an entirely blank slate, and publish THAT as an overwrite to an existing level... would THAT still maintain all the stats and hearts?

For example, say someone has an amazing level with a 5 star average out of 100,000 plays and 20,000 hearts. And they then make a level that's nothing but a penis monster, and when publishing, overwrite their old one - will all those positive hearts and stats remain?

Don't worry, I have no plans to replace anything with a Penis Monster. But I have lost my original copy of the level, and want to get this 100% confirmed before re-publishing.

This is correct. I have tried myself and in fact came up with a couple of ideas on how this feature/glitch could be used to this sites or anyones advantage......

Awesome... Thanks so much for the prompt reply. Using the save-as command, I ended up losing my original copy of the level, so the game was treating the new one as a brand-spanking-new level. Didn't want to risk possibly losing all my stats by uploading this "new" version.

Before the save-as command was implemented, I could see this as an oversight or glitch. But now that the save-as is in there, I hope to god they don't remove this... "feature"? Couldn't bear to lose all my hard-earned progress.

Anyway - thanks again for the answer! I'm quite relieved to hear it.
