Useful Sticker 3D & 2D Store.

Archive: 4 posts

Before I begin, I'd like to point out that I was tipped off to this level by a post made by shahchip over in the "Suggest A Creation" forum here https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=8081&highlight=dreatern

I just checked this level out and I have to say... it's great! For anyone who is a sticker nerd (guilty!!), this is by far the best level I've seen that offers original as well as familiar images such as road signs, danger/hazard signs, etc., as prizes. There are even some LBP related things that are great, like the fantastic Paintinator sign for all you MGS level pack freaks.

You begin at the store front where there is a window display of sorts that has what I'm guessing is most (if not all), of the almost eighty items you can find inside the store. There is also an ATM machine which you must use in order to make any purchases... more on that in a minute. The authors choice of music is fitting, and serves well to fill the role of typical mall muzak when used in this environment (given the limited options we have). The lighting is nothing special, but that's to be expected and is in keeping with the theme of a department store.

The bi-level store is laid out very simply, and with the inclusion of jet-packs you can quickly navigate throughout it easily bypassing those items you don't want. This author is seemingly familiar with the dread of going through a prize-laden level without being able to avoid sticker and object prize bubbles, as they have conveniently put them up high out of reach, each in their own clearly labeled box.

The author has made purchasing your items original and fun, in a well thought out and easy manner. If you want to purchase an item (that's right... you actually have to use money which the author has provided you with at the beginning of the level in "sticker form" at the ATM I mentioned earlier), you simply open your popit, select your "fist o' cash" sticker in your Community Stickers and place it on the box of the item you wish to purchase. Presto... the object drops to the floor and you simply pick it up. An added bonus of the author's inclusion of the jet-pack, is that if you accidentally sticker an object you don't want or change your mind on... simply fly over and avoid the object or sticker bubble all together. All of the stickers and objects are clearly labeled with both picture and text to help you with your decisions. There are however, many empty boxes throughout the store that are labeled "Reserved", which I'm guessing is for future stock to be provided by the author. Don't bother opening them, I tried in hopes that I might find something hidden but gave up after a dozen or so.

The images on the stickers and objects themselves are of good clarity, with the latter being a "higher quality purchase" in my opinion. This is because the author has taken the time to not only come up with great images, but to apply them to cardboard and to neatly cut away the edges for you. The only problem I found was one or two stickers (the CAUTION sign most notably) that had been cropped too closely and had their corners neatly snipped off. This is easily correctable by the author and even more easily overlooked given the quality and scope of all that is available in the store. Hey, if that's my only complaint, I really ought to just say nothing and move along. It's apparent that a lot of time and effort has been put into the creation of these wonderful gifts for us all to appreciate and use to make our own levels better. More so... it's refreshing to see a level that actually gives back to the community. KUDOS to them for doing just that!

There really is something for everyone here folks... it's basically your one-stop-sticker-shop, with some nice objects to boot. Tired of not having the right sign to put next to that hazardous area? Need a quirky looking computer or funky TV set for your home or work themed level? Looking for a little more variety of foliage for your outdoor scene? Then check out the "USEFUL STICKERS 3D & 2D STORE" by dreatern... you won't be sorry you did.
