Call it fate...

Archive: 10 posts

During the few past days I was very happy, since I found out that having an empty popit avoids the unsaving bug.

So I started creating a brand new level waiting for new ideas to put in M.F.A.ch.3 and practicing with all the stuff.

Apparently I was creating another good level, pure platforming style in wich you have to do something quite every moment, with some featured stuff I haven't seen in any level I played until now, BUT...

Yep...

I was tweaking the sub-boss-to-kill-with-paintinator and some of the timed traps around, saved, returned to pod to check out how's M.F.A.ch.1 doing (993 plays and still 4 stars) then tried to play the newer level of above...

FAILED TO LOAD!!!
ALL MY HARD WORK LOST AGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIN!!!!

***** and all italian badmouth words I now (and there are thousands)...

Just wanted to share my sadness and anger with you, maybe I'll start over buildin it and make it better than before... or maybe not... that's so annihilating...

I'm only thinking about what if I was nearly finished with it and played just before publishing...

Tears.

P.S.
My backup save (I have only one, dumb me...) has been just overwrited...
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooo!

Sorry to hear about that man...

My condolences to you and your family on this most depressing occasion.

Seriously, though... creating on LBP seems to be a Russian roulette type of ordeal.

Looks like you blew your brains out this time, man. =/

Yes, and I'm starting to hate it.
If I wanted to play russian roulette I would have bought a gun not a PS3 game.

Are you sure it was just that one time that it failed to load? Have you tried resetting the PS3?2009-02-06 01:57:00

That sucks... BIG time!! The more I hear of these horror stories the more I fear for my own levels being turfed into the abyss through some sick and twisted sign from above that I spend far too much time alone with this game. The current level I'm working on has already been uploaded to the servers but is locked just as a safety precaution. I hate to have to do that as it takes up space, but until they get these buggy things figured out it's the only solution I can see for all of us protecting our works in progress.

I hope you get the inspiration back to re-do the level... sounds like you were pretty proud of it and confident in it's sheer awesomeness!

I have started my Puppeteers level over 3 times already... GRRRRR I think I will have to do it again but i was too scared to look into it today just to see that all of my work is gone... again. I may have to stall my project until this gets fixed, so i guess it is all story work and planning for me until its fixed.

Cheers!

DEFINITELY a good idea to constanly make backups of everything. I keep a backup of all my stuff on a flashdrive, just in case the game decides to go bonkers like that.

Though, it's never happened to me..... and I definitely spend enough time with the game in the editor, oh yes.

Does anyone have any clues at all as to what might actually CAUSE this?

As bugs go, this one is downright nasty.

It's on the front page news but a bit buried.

If you can copy your save file (and it sounds like you can with back-ups) then you can send the save file off to MM and they will try and repair it. I've heard a few users have managed to get their levels repaired by MM by trying this.

The link to the thread is here:
Problems with your LittleBigPlanet save? Here's how you can help! (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=7697)

Even if they can't fix it, it will allow them to see another example of data gone bad and hopefully prevent it from happening in the future.

Try it out and let us know.

Same kind of thing happened to me... except not as bad, I made a awesome mechanical crane, saved it and it wasn't there anymore, and the level I made that used it said failed to load...

It hurts, doesn't it?
