Sack In Fatigues (Shooter/Stealth LBP levels Concept)

Now, I never played alot of shooters, but I have played some such as Call of Duty 4, MGS4 and whatnot. However, such intense moments in those games have inspired me to create a series that involves as much action and cunning as I can add in LBP.

Concept
The series is call Sack In Fatigues, a war story of newly recruited soldier of burlap (or whatever your Sackperson is made of. )sent to assist the rebels, a stealth soldier dressed in all black that steals intel and infiltrates enemy bases, and a local rebel dealing with the political turmoil in his/her nation.

What will be in the level
Different kinds of enemies: Either heavy weapon users, riflemen, enemies that use grenades, and really high tech security systems for the stealth missions. The goal is to keep the enemies fresh and add variety into the mix.
Dramatic art direction: If the therm allows me, I really want to try out different effects in atmosphere. Maybe I can use emitters to mimic sandstorms or something. I also want the environments to feel like a war is going on. Propaganda, soldiers falling to gunfire, triggered cutscenes, something that feels like you're going through a story. Ideas are still in progress, but the goal is to not make the level ugly.
Paintinator Ammo limitation: In order to get that old school shooter feel, one of the goals is to have fallen enemies drop paintinators with different amounts of ammo. The ammo count will depend on what the enemy was using during the time.

Feedback is much appreciated, and hopefully I can add some media (I just need the right tools first.) But as soon as progress is made, I will update this thread.

sounds like a hefty project, so when you get around to it it'd be nice to see some pics!
I like the idea of limited paintgun ammo!

Heres something you could have, a mounted minigun emitting paintballs (you can capture paintballs as an item). Maybe a mini boss where you have to take a chopper down while avoiding exchange fire. Sounds like a metal slug boss actually >_>

I always the limited ammo thing was a good idea, but I put it in one of my levels, and people say they get confused because they never look at the amount of paint in the canister because they just assume it's unlimited.2009-02-26 00:54:00
