Patch 1.30 has broken sackbot looking.

Archive: 20 posts

Ever since Patch 1.30 my sackbots have not been able to look at tags. They just look in a random direction, no matter what I set the range too. This has affected all my films on my earth, and it affects anything I put in play mode.

Just letting people know.

EDIT: Apparently, only tags that are on sackbot circuitboards cannot be looked at by other sackbots. Taking tags off from the circuitboards has made the sackbots look at them.

EDIT 2: Apparently, it seems that sackbots will not recognize tags on any sort of ciruitboard.

Hahaa. Lovely... Guess I'll wait for next patch before I play. Keeping classy as always LBP2~

Edit: Are you sure? I just tested it on a blank level on my moon and the bots look towards the tags just fine.

Sorry. Check my edit. It seems that the sackbots only won't recognize tags on the circuitboards of other sackbots, but it seems that they recognize tags on normal surfaces just fine.2014-04-11 04:37:00

I don't think the problem is isolated to being on sackbot circuitboards, I have tags on chips that aren't being stared at properly either, I notice that the distance between the sackbot & chip/tag makes them look in peculiar places as well. Haven't removed tags from chips yet but that will be a gargantuan feat for me if I have to go through all my levels/sublevels to do that.

This is SUCK.

I wonder how they always manage to break things that are completely unrelated to what the update is for.

I doubt this will ever be fixed.

That's a silly thing to doubt. Sony may break things semi-often once on every few updates. But anything noticeable like this that harms old & new levels often gets fixed pretty fast. *mew

Thanks for reporting this!

We have a team of tech-savvy Sackfolk looking into this at the moment, so hopefully they will be able to figure out why our Sackbot's screws have become a bit loose.

Provided that they don't get too distracted attaching high-powered rockets to watermelons or anything like that...

Update

We believe that this only affects Sackbots in Play mode.
It's purely a visual issue and shouldn't have an impact on gameplay, so there's no need to change the logic on your Sackbot's circuit board.

So when are they gonna fix Hedge Hopping....that was my favorite level until they broke it almost 2 years ago. (it becomes a glitchy mess when you play multiplayer. I think it has something to do with bolts because I've seen the same bug in some community levels)

Has nothing to do with bolts, Happens to me too on a lot of auto-scroll emitted levels. And yes it has been reported before many times, I'm not sure what the company thinks about it. But it must not be easy to fix since they do fix most things they break. But just because they fix "most things" doesn't mean I'm saying they fix everything. :T *mew

But if the visual issue impacts on the entire playing experience of a movie level that the creator spent six months making then it's a serious issue nonetheless...looking forward to the subsequent fix.

Ouch...ehyea it hurts my project defiantly. The sackbots looking around actually pertains to the gameplay in some respects.

At least there are guys working on it, cant wait till its fixed!

yup i had noticed the problem as well but i wasn't sure if it was the update or just things breaking on my moon. I worked my way around it by using tags. works fine now. well it was easy since it was a short cut scene and not a whole movie level.2014-04-16 15:34:00

So is this issue going to be patched or what? Doesn't seem like anyone is in a rush to help us out. Most of my cinematic levels seem to have issues according to player feedback, and I know some friends had some major issues too. I refuse to edit anything hoping that an update fixes this big problem.2014-04-24 00:39:00

The problem has already been reported and I think... the company has said they plan to fix it. but patches don't normally come out more then once every month or 2. so we will just need to wait a bit, next patch likely will have the fix. *mew2014-04-24 00:45:00

^ "Sometime before the end of may", Which is about what I thought. Normally takes least 1 month before they are able to push a update online, and if you count the time this was reported to the company with the loose time the next patch is coming out with the fixes... It adds up to about right. *mew2014-04-24 05:33:00

Or are they too busy spending precious time and resource bringing back crapola like the recent Ramp debacle?...I hear they have their best people working on it as illustrated....

Wow...it would have been a disaster if I released my game. I really feel for the creators with cinematic levels. Guess I wont be doing cutscenes for a good month or so...
