Nature's Paradise
Archive: 19 posts
Hi Guys, Posted this level to the showcase about a year ago, but wondered if some seasoned players could give me some more reviews and tips on it http://lbp.me/v/89dxmn It's a tranquil and sedate platformer with the theme of nature (as the title would suggest) Level Description: Journey deep into a quiet and tranquil paradise governed only by plant life and free falling water. ***** Medium difficulty ***** Please REVIEW and Enjoy the scenery of this sedate platformer. Music by: InsidiousLily_13 **1 Player Strongly recommended** Now with updated and improved obstacles for 2014! Unfortuantely, I have terrible thermo managing skills so the level is a short one I'm using the F4F scheme and will take it to account any points given to me I don't think I'll be able to 'Make it longer' as it's maxed out at around 95% (all that clutter!!) but I will put all comments received in to my brain for my next level Thank you all, guys. Posted this to the LittleBigPlanet Network too, so sorry if you've seen it before Happy Creating & Happy Playing, Guys Kindest regards, Snooth! <3 http://lbp.me/v/89dxmn | 2014-03-20 22:11:00 Author: LittleBigSnooth Posts: 454 |

I played this before! I went to rate the level up and I already had! It must have been awhile ago, perhaps the first time you posted it. The platforming was enjoyable. The Hobbit music was pleasant. My suggestions involve the look and cohesiveness of the level. There are few straight lines in nature, but uneven surfaces make for awkward platforming. I might keep the flat platforms, but use the corner editor on the walls and background. I thought the glowing flowers looked out of place. Perhaps if they were supported by a special vine. Bounce pads and tubes are also not usually found in nature, so why not make the glowing flowers disguise the bound pads like you are bouncing on magic flowers? The wooden structures like the broken bridge looked great. That was a nice touch. And right next to that where you used the temple stone you cut a few blocks off and tilted them; those little details make all the difference. Thanks for being a creator and making levels for us to play! ;-) F4f lbn sackquest Dark Flame | 2014-03-22 03:42:00 Author: one-mad-bunny Posts: 334 |

At the original time of publishing, holo was the new wow factor, so used it as a way to make it seem more appealing to the people that were using holo as the be all and end all of life on LBP at the time haha. I agree though, now, they look out of place and need more work Look forward to playing your SackQuest, and I shall review on the forum soon | 2014-03-22 10:33:00 Author: LittleBigSnooth Posts: 454 |

Very good level. I like the visuals and the nice environment. The gameplay also is very enjoyable. The music choice from LOTR is excellent It was a little bit too short in my opinion Great level! | 2014-03-22 23:24:00 Author: avundcv Posts: 2526 |

Thank you for the nice comments, Avundcv I agree, it is way too short. Thermometer is literally 95% though haha Such terrible management of my deco and sticker count, as well as the complexity of play in one area. Hopefully learn for my next level | 2014-03-23 00:56:00 Author: LittleBigSnooth Posts: 454 |
I liked it. I do agree omb about all the straight lines. Another suggestion that I would give is that you are using a lot of the animated water material (maybe part of your thermo troubles, but I love it, so if you can keep it, please do). But, since it is a glass material, it has no friction and can make the platforming tricky and even frustrating. If you glue a paper thin layer of invisible material on the running surfaces, it would make a big difference. | 2014-03-23 13:03:00 Author: v0rtex Posts: 1878 |

If you glue a paper thin layer of invisible material on the running surfaces, it would make a big difference. Let me see what I can do Thank you for all the kind words, Vortex. Funnily enough, it never crossed my mind about the friction on glass, until the other day.... and now it bugs the hell out of me! Ha-ha. I shall have a play about with it. At one point, I thought about editing all of the materials to make it more Wood/Pencil water, and passing it off as a bit of a comic book type effect, but honestly, despite the fact the thermo went down a bit, I just didn't like it I've set the recommended amount of player to 1, but that doesn't stop 4 people entering and then saying "It's laggy, fix it" ha-ha I'll post here if I can make some note worthy changes, but I am not sure just how much room for improvement I can squeeze in Despite all the great suggestions Thanks again, Vortex, and thanks again everyone for the amazingly kind response Love you all <3 EDIT: Vortex, I have fixed the friction issue on the ball throwing part Good suggestion, thank you | 2014-03-23 13:25:00 Author: LittleBigSnooth Posts: 454 |
