flipping terrible with the 3D glitch. I'm just not well versed in it at all. I get some of it but I've never really looked that far into it. That said, I don't really like it anyway. But hey, that's just me.

Don't think I've ever actually used it apart from messing around. It's such a pain to work with and usually doesn't look that great in levels, IMO.

Although bakscratch did show me the glitch a long time before he went public with it, maybe I'm just bitter because I didn't take the opportunity to make something amazing with it to shock and wow everyone before everyone heard about it

I feel you. I suck at it but to be honest about 90% of the people who get a hold of it don't use it well and it looks horrible. I'm sure it takes tons of practice to get somewhat decent at it.2014-03-18 02:11:00

I use it only if I feel the level will benefit from it. It does take a lot of getting used to, since you have to work with more than 3 layers if you want it to look decent. In example, I used it to make advertisements on the LBP1 city background with those empty advertising boards for my upcoming level. Stuff like that can add some depth if you do it right.2014-03-18 03:51:00

I personally like, it helps add design to my top down levels or 3d levels. I guess it really depends on how you use it. 2014-03-18 04:09:00

I use the 3D glitch a lot, it helps with a design element called "Space". I think my project looks 100 times better using it. It really just depends on what you want and how you want to use it. Sometimes I do agree a glitch will make environments look worse, but generally the illusion of space brings more believably to worlds than the simple 3d layers.

Some of the best visuals in LBP were defiantly 3D glitched.

I just feel this enormous pressure to use it, as I get the impression that levels without it get sneered at as if they're inferior. I do use it a little bit, every now and again, just because i feel i have to. I know i'm probably wrong to do so.

Hi Teenwolf,
If you like you can send my a friend request and join me next time i'm on. I may have a better 3d glitch tool I use. I can give it to you and help explain it better, if you like.

I know what you mean, but it's not entirely true. Just look at the latest LBPC Spotlight; some amazing looking levels in there and they were not using the 3d layer glitch. I am one of those people who likes to make things look better than they actually are, but you have to remember that, even though some look amazing with the 3D tool, others spent way too much time and effort on the look of it, and the gameplay lacks. Better to make it enjoyable and the gameplay fun and unique, I say

I get what you mean about pressure though. It did, at one point, seem like you had to use it. I didn't, and don't see myself ever using it, but I think there are levels as recent as the spotlight that prove the 3D glitch is just that; a glitch, and not a necessity

I wonder if there'll ever be an official version?

I've never used the 3D glitch (successfully) before. I gave it a try for one level, but I scrapped it entirely in the end, because everything that moved on the last layer would break everything.

Now I feel ready to try again, and lve_msg's thread looks pretty complete. Thanks for the link!

I didn't have the Oni emitter but Sean88 sorted me out with it. Still getting to grips with it all.

I like 3d. There are excellent 3d levels outside.

I use it often. Here are some example from my levels.
I'm really not an expert, but I don't think they look that bad

I'm trying to get to grips with it but it's rather frustrating at times
