General Fast Food Discussion

It's been a while since we last talked about the fast foods in America. I would like to talk about it again, but this time, no poll will be created. You can also talk about your favorite fast food or quote others about fast food. Just try to stay away from controversy this time. I'll do my best as well. | 2014-03-15 03:02:00 Author: Apple2012 Posts: 1408 |
Why America? If you want to avoid controversy don't exclude most of the world I like fast food but I haven't had much recently...haven't been going to mcdonalds as much as I used to. Still occasionally go to KFC. Actually I'd like to go to KFC more often really. KFC is great. I might go today just for the hell of it. I'll keep you updated. | 2014-03-15 05:41:00 Author: ARD Posts: 4291 |
Whoops! I didn't mean to limit to America. This is for the world, but most fast foods we see came from America. So yeah, it can be any fast food, no matter where you are. | 2014-03-15 07:48:00 Author: Apple2012 Posts: 1408 |
KFC, McDonalds, Chinese Take-aways, Greggs, Fish&Chip Shops and generally anything else. I like Burger King too but there isn't one near to me (one here was closed down due to.. Infestations) | 2014-03-15 12:06:00 Author: Shooter0898 Posts: 996 |
So far I have only contact with Subway and local restaurants, so I can at least pretend I eat healthy. | 2014-03-15 13:21:00 Author: gdn001 Posts: 5891 |
A ?1 burger would represent 6-7% of my weekly food budget. It's pretty rare for me to have any fast food or take-away since it's comparatively expensive. When I went to Burger King once as a teenager the chicken I had was filled with giblets or something, it was pretty gross and put me off going back for years. I tried them again late last year at an airport and it was a lot nicer than I remember. I hate this thread for making me hungry. | 2014-03-15 19:32:00 Author: Ayneh Posts: 2454 |
I don't eat KFC due to the fact someone found a chicken brain in one of the meals from KFC. My favorite would be McDonalds. | 2014-03-15 23:28:00 Author: Sackativitron Posts: 61 |
I like fast food every once in awhile. One of my favs is Steak n Shake. They have pretty good quality of food and quite consistent. Plus their milkshakes are quite yummy. They are hand scooped real ice cream and mixed on those old fashioned shake mixers per order. Not some vat of frozen milk concoction. | 2014-03-15 23:52:00 Author: jwwphotos Posts: 11383 |
In Croatia I had deep fried pig brains (or maybe it was chicken?) It was like chicken nuggets but... slimier. | 2014-03-16 00:10:00 Author: flamingemu Posts: 1872 |
I don't like fast food that much. Every now and then when we're driving home from somewhere and it's late and there's no time for making dinner we go to the McDonalds. I don't really like their food. I used to love it though, until one day i found out the burgers from the caf? in our street tasted 2304932094% better than a Big Mac. And then there was Pink Slime... the stuff McDonalds puts in their chicken nuggets. I forgot what exactly it was but it was not something i'd like to eat. | 2014-03-16 13:30:00 Author: Woutery Posts: 793 |
Just the thought of Chicken Nuggets from McDonalds scare the heck outta me. Ugh! I mean.. nuggets? Has anyone ever a had real baked or roasted chicken? How are these two things even related!?!!? | 2014-03-16 13:52:00 Author: jwwphotos Posts: 11383 |

Well, chicken nuggets are tasty... In their own way. At least the frozen ones from the supermarket. LOL!! Well.. I haven't tried those. Still a bit suspicious. ...but those aren't really drive thru food. | 2014-03-16 16:58:00 Author: jwwphotos Posts: 11383 |
Since I am California-born, I prefer the "California-exclusive" fast-foods. They are in Texas too: Carls Jr. Del Taco In-N-Out Burger Weinerschnitzel El Pollo Loco Here are some other exotic fast foods I prefer as well: James Coney Island (good, but not in my home town) Whataburger Taco Cabana Panda Express If there's any common fast food I like a lot, here are some: Popeye's Chick-fil-a Sonic Arby's Subway Pizza Hut | 2014-03-17 00:22:00 Author: Apple2012 Posts: 1408 |
Oh wow.. forgot about Chick Filla!. I would also agree with Subway, Arby's, Sonic. Add in Five Guys, Jimmy John's, Quizno's, Bellacino's Pizzeria and sometimes Donoto's Pizza. Wendy's too. The others I haven't ever tried as they aren't around here, but I have always wanted to have an In-N-Out burger. One of the best burgers around here is not fast food at all. Bub's, home of the Big Ugly. | 2014-03-17 01:27:00 Author: jwwphotos Posts: 11383 |
It's pretty rare for me to have any fast food or take-away since it's comparatively expensive. Pretty much this. I try to cook as much as I can myself, when your're managing to feed yourself on ~$30 a week spending $15 on a not-really-that-great meal seems like insanity. Besides, if you ask me my pizzas taste WAY better On the rare occasion I do get fast food I'll go to Grill'd for a burger and chips. http://lh5.googleusercontent.com/_yOV8dhzN4jk/TZKR4p9QSvI/AAAAAAAAg40/mVYZnbfr9N8/s600/Screen%20shot%202011-03-30%20at%201.12.46%20PM.jpg | 2014-03-17 02:18:00 Author: SR20DETDOG Posts: 2431 |
If I do get fast food, it's normally a chinese takeaway or something after a night out. I've had McDonalds about twice in the past 2 years, and both times I've done it I've considered it to be a defeat. What's the tradional American go-to food after a night of heavy drinking? Over here it's a kebab, or something horrible and greasy looking, served by someone horrible and greasy looking. KFC, McDonalds, Chinese Take-aways, Greggs, Fish&Chip Shops and generally anything else. I like Burger King too but there isn't one near to me (one here was closed down due to.. Infestations) Related to that, I found out the other week that they don't have meat and potato pasties down south??!! Just meat pasties! On that subject, do you Yanks have pasties over there? | 2014-03-17 10:20:00 Author: Ali_Star Posts: 4085 |

After a night of drinking? There is one amazing place in Broad Ripple(north central part of Indianapolis, IN) called LaBamba's, which is where all the fun bars are. Burrito's as big as your head! Incredibly good!! If you're more into a burger, there is always White Castle or my fav Steak n Shake as they are 24 hours. Though waking up the next morning to find a sack and those tiny boxes from White Castle all over the place can lead to a "Oh no!! What have I done!?!?!" moment. lol Pasties? ..more of a regional thing like upper Michigan and some other areas, but we have made them here at home. | 2014-03-17 11:36:00 Author: jwwphotos Posts: 11383 |
KFC is great. I might go today just for the hell of it. I'll keep you updated. I promised an update so here it is. I didn't go to KFC on Saturday in the end. But I went today. No regrets. Love live fast food. | 2014-03-18 00:19:00 Author: ARD Posts: 4291 |
My family despises fast-food. Literally. I've never set foot into a Del Taco, Subway, Burger King, etc. I've been to a Taco Bell maybe twice because something else was closed. If we do go, it's usually: Chick-Fil-A In N' Out Five Guys (Eastern Burgers in SoCal? I think yes.) But yeah. Usually we'll go to semi-fast places like some pizza place or somethin', but never something like McDonalds. Ugh. | 2014-03-18 04:02:00 Author: DominationMags Posts: 1840 |

Besides, if you ask me my pizzas taste WAY better Pizza, lasagna, spaghetti bolognese, tuna napolitana, ravioli, ice cream. Why is Italian food so good? Related to that, I found out the other week that they don't have meat and potato pasties down south??!! I remember seeing meat and potato pasties in Cornwall. Maybe Cornwall doesn't count as Southern depending what you mean by that, though. I think you're more likely to see meat and potato pies in local shops rather than pasties, but I'm largely ignorant since I don't go out much. | 2014-03-18 16:00:00 Author: Ayneh Posts: 2454 |
I refuse to eat KFC after finding some messed up things in it on two separate occasions. Don't care what it was, not putting it in my mouth | 2014-03-24 10:59:00 Author: LittleBigSnooth Posts: 454 |
Also, street meat? I have challenged myself to try a local hot dog vendor once, and now it's a hot spot for me. It's incredible how much they can put in a single hot dog. | 2014-03-24 12:56:00 Author: gdn001 Posts: 5891 |
Personally I'd like to blend all the selections on the McDonald's menu and drink it all in a smoothie. | 2014-03-24 13:37:00 Author: Ironface Posts: 432 |
I'm not much of a "fast food" eater nowadays. I've had it so much in my younger years that it's pretty much ruined my insides. I can't stand McDonald's. The ONLY thing I can have from there that doesn't make me have to go to the restroom in exactly 27 minutes, is the hot cakes with sausage. I can eat their fries too. Love those fries. Their chicken nuggets, better stay away from those. I've read too many bad reports and weird stories surrounding those things. When I do swing by somewhere to get something, it's usually like a Subway or deli of some sort, so I can at least pretend it's more healthy. I love, love, love Schlotzsky's. Man, they make this sandwich on sour dough bread that is tremendous. Love it. Maybe once a year I'll get something from Arby's, every couple of years I'll get something from Taco Bell just to remind myself of why I don't eat Taco Bell. I do love Chinese food but don't consider that "fast food" even though I can run in and get me a plate off buffet pretty quick. | 2014-03-24 17:51:00 Author: biorogue Posts: 8424 |
Today I had a McDonalds and won a free porridge through the monopoly promotion :3 I'm not going to take up the offer though. Porridge doesn't sound good if it's from McDonalds | 2014-03-24 19:52:00 Author: Shooter0898 Posts: 996 |
(Sorry for the bump) Fast food's the best (not for me), as it's said by some winner, everything in moderation. There's no issue in eating fast food once or twice a month, it's when you start to eat it for every meal that you see obesity strike. | 2014-04-21 18:47:00 Author: Undarivik Posts: 442 |

There's no issue in eating fast food once or twice a month, it's when you start to eat it for every meal that you see obesity strike. Especially if you don't get enough exercise. I used to eat a lot of fast food, but not anymore. I still like some fast foods, but I can't eat too much. | 2014-04-21 20:15:00 Author: Apple2012 Posts: 1408 |
I feel McDonalds gets a bad rep. Sure it's not healthy, but what fast food isn't? There are healthier choices on the menu rather than the BIG MAC or the DOUBLE 1/4 POUNDER. I personally love the wraps, but then again I get them for free considering I work there. <.< I am thoroughly enjoying working there because everyone is nice and the strict cleanliness rules are something that was amiss when I worked at an amusement park. Just because I work there doesn't mean that's why I like their food. I enjoy In-N-Out more for their burgers, and Chick-Fil-A for their Chicken Sandwiches, but there are some things at McDonalds that aren't as good at other fast food places. | 2014-06-20 20:15:00 Author: theonlybub Posts: 690 |

I could go to the post office and get better burgers than that disgrace of a restaurant. If your post office is serving up burgers...they're doing something right! | 2014-06-27 15:39:00 Author: theonlybub Posts: 690 |
My favorite has to be a local take-away. I shan't post the name since it's unlikely any of you will ever pass by it but the pizza's are the nicest I've ever eaten (And I've sampled a lot of Pizzas). | 2014-06-27 18:01:00 Author: wally-217 Posts: 521 |
