Well, looks like we're headed towards another Industrial Revolution-the automation revolution. What do you guys think? Will capitalism be destroyed? Will we recover and leap forward, like during the Industrial Revolution? Will we head to a dystopia?

Ooh, I'm sure this will be a nice thread.

so, robots will do all the work for us. All we need to do is give them artificial intelligence, then they will rebel, annihilate us, then rebuild society in a way that puts all human efforts to shame.

VIVA LA ROBOTICS!

It's getting scary how automated things are becoming. Just earlier today my laptop pointed out that the driver for my SD card reader was not currently installed and proceeded to sort it out for me. My laptop is only 6 years old - I wouldn't expect such behaviour from a 6 year old human. Just imagine how intelligent these modern computers will be by the time they're old enough to, say, join the army :kz:2014-03-14 21:34:00

I'm the OP.

We have the technology to do a lot of things. However, politics and money will prevent this from happening for at least 50 years, if the earth isn't a trash pile by then.2014-03-27 00:03:00
