Risk- A Game of World Domination

Archive: 7 posts

I'm going to try and bring this back. Hopefully this time it works.

Basically, this game plays like Risk. Read the rules here:

http://www.hasbro.com/common/instruct/risk.pdf

Specialized forum game rules:

1. Each person must select a country name/ color.
2. That person will randomly get a certain amount of starter countries
3. Each person will start with 40 troops to place wherever they want
4. Each person can attack another adjacent nation as long as they have at least two troops in each territory. No limit to amount of attacks per turn. you can also end your turn by moving troops to an adjacent territory.
5. You have 24 hours to do your turn. If you do not do your turn in that time without prior informing me, you lose regeneration of troops for two of your turns.
6. Speaking of which, at the beginning of each turn, you will gain two troops to place wherever, plus some for each city.
7. Some nations have a city. If you are in control of a nation with a city, you get a specific amount of new troops per each turn.
8. A battle will be decided via Rock Paper Scissors. Each person will pm a non partial player (I am a player so someone else will have to volunteer when I fight), and each winner will be decided thusly. for instance, If I am attacking with two troops, I go "Rock Rock" and the opponent goes "Rock Scissors", one is a tie and the second one loses a troop.

Any questions?

For now, I'll make a map. I'm thinking we need at least 5 or 6 players, so yeah.

PLAYER LIST
RockSauron- Evil Peanut Empire
Shooter0898- Peanut anarchist rebels
Freeaim- The Wonderful Kingdom of Princess FreeAim
amoney1999- Kingdom of the TV World

Oh, and Blue is water so don't pick Dark Blue

Peanut anarchist rebels RED

We are fighting to overthrow the oppressive regime of the RAWK and we are the greatest threat to the stability of the empire...

This gonna be fun.

The Wonderful Kingdom of Princess FreeAim, please. We are a strong, independent kingdom, fed up with the all-too-violent war between the nut-kind. We will bring an end to the time of violence with the power of rainbows, kisses, unicorns and rats. And also death.

(Colour is, by the way, violet. The colour I used for the name of my kingdom.)

Not saying everyone can't play the game fairly, but what if a temporary alliance forms between two armies? (For tactical advantage and/or for the lulz because of those descriptions. What I mean is, say, the Peanut Anarchist Rebels are fighting against the Wonderful Kingdom of Princess FreeAim.

They pm amoney, a non-partial player in this scenario. Along with Shooter's two commands, he tells amoney to make sure he wins no matter what, trying to spark some strategy to take out the other armies. So if Shooter said "Rock Paper" to amoney and FreeAim said "Paper Scissors," only amoney truly knows both, so for all we know, Shooter really could have said "Scissors Rock," taking out FreeAim's troops, instead of the other way around.

Again, we haven't really done a game like this on LBPC (at least not in a long time) so something like that probably won't happen at this point. Still, getting someone who isn't playing to receive pms might make more sense.

I suppose that is a possibility. My solution is to have the non partial player have to post the results of the rock paper scissors match in the thread when declaring the winner so both sides will be able to check if their number was selected. Unless, of course, you are volunteering to be the non partial player, dragon, since you say you won't be playing but are interested.

Anyway, I give you guys about 50 hours- 4 p.m. on Tuesday EST. Sign up now if you haven't yet.

Sounds good. I just wanted to be precautious, even if I am overthinking it. If you are up for having a non-player collect the pms, I'd be happy doing so, and posting the results.
