Very much fun. Ironically, from what I saw, the enemies which were introduced first (the things that shot missile-projectiles) were the things that killed me every single time. The cobras were real pushovers and while I was at danged of getting killed by the big ones once or twice, they blew up just before a collision. While it plays very well and has no actual flaws on any technical standpoint, there are a few suggestions.

In my opinion the first enemies are the hardest, much harder than the cobras, so maybe change it so that cobras are introduced first, then the first enemies? That way there'd be a larger sense of something adding to the rising difficulty factor of the level. In addition, not to change anything but rather add something, even though the background looks very nice, another thing that could add to the difficulty of the level would be to make the background partially sink to the back-layer occasionally, creating a lava-trap or something to the (relatively small) area for a short period of time, before rising back to the original layer as if nothing happened. Oh, and the enemies who were to wander there would take heavy damage too! That way there'd be more strategy to the gameplay rather than spin around them and shoot them, which it kind of feels to demote itself to now.

Nonetheless, this is a particularly great minigame.

If you haven’t played this yet, then get on it. The intro/menu alone is worth the price of admission. What did you say? There is no admission charge? I can’t believe a level of this quality would not charge admission. Anyhow, the design, sound + voice work, detail and lightning all combine to immerse you in a wonderful world full of FURY! Once you pick your jaw off the floor and get busy playing, you’ll soon realize you’ve found yourself stuck in a shoot’em up that will have you zig-zagging and cursing in no time flat. The first characters you’ll encounter are quite the spear throwing little pests and will continue to come after you constantly. I thought for sure after I slayed bout 24,000 of their bros they would settle the F down!!! In my opinion the cobras weren’t as bad A as the spear throwers and maybe if I had any twin-stick skills, I might have actually rescued a princess or something along the way. The ending is well thought out with a photo booth for the vain sacks and prize bubble machines for the sack-addicts. From beginning to end, this level is furiously fun, addictive and a short lesson in design for all of us.2014-03-11 20:54:00
