Laptop overheating
Archive: 4 posts
Hopefully this thread will sustain the endless cycle of Ask Me Anything topics... Anyways, my godawful and broken Acer Aspire 9410Z has started to overheat quite badly. Without even having any programs on, everything but the harddisk gets to about 80 degrees Celcius, which sucks. Every time i now try to play a game on it, after about 15 minutes it'll shut itself down, starting it will result in near-endless BSOD's and more down-shutting until i remove power and put it back. My dad will open it and remove the dust that's inside, hopefully later this day. Any thoughts? | 2014-03-06 18:04:00 Author: Woutery Posts: 793 |
Might even be the power supply. ...but removing any dust would be a good start. Laptops are prone to running quite hot just due to their limited space. Curios what errors you get. | 2014-03-06 23:04:00 Author: jwwphotos Posts: 11383 |
Has the fan stopped working? | 2014-03-06 23:16:00 Author: Rabid-Coot Posts: 6728 |
My dad removed some dust from the fans, about a hand full. Temperature's about 35 degrees down, still about 5/10 too hot but it does the job. Only problem is that he did a rusty job putting the screws together and now there's a tiny bit of plastic sticking out upwards. Mostly because this is an awful laptop on it's own, though. | 2014-03-07 00:40:00 Author: Woutery Posts: 793 |
