I guess I should go look at some music showcase levels first but having been away from lbp2 for a while I'm wondering how you go about requesting to use another player's music in your level? Is it considered OK to use it as long as you provide credit or should you contact the author first? I think it's a really cool addition to the create-o-sphere XD

Yep, if the music creators are handing them out just give them credit for it. Music is hard to make, but also music creators make it for levels. Dont be afraid to reach out to music creators. Shoot them a message. I did that and it really benefited my project.

I always send them a message asking if it's ok. But if they give their music away as prizes, chances are they'll be happy for you to use it in your levels as long as you give credit in some form.
