Sonic Lost World Level

Hello, LBP players.

If youve been following my blog for the last couple of weeks you might know that i am crazy lol. But don't worry, I think I'm finally getting better...

Anyway, I have ideas and have actually started on a Sonic Lost World themed levels. My ideas are to create a pseudo(false)-3D level mixed with 2D. I used the Top down effect but manipulated the camera to be behind the player at all times to give the illusion of 3D. With this I hope to create 3D-like Lost World levels which i will "import" from the WII U version. I will also create 2D platformer levels when necessary. I hope this becomes an ambitious project that a lot of people will like. I wont get a MM pick though since MM doesnt pick stuff that has to do with copyright.

But if you want to help, you can. Right now I am working on animations for 3D and 2D Sonic. I need someone who is artistic to do this. Im artistic but I lack skill in LBP to create good looking stuff. Please subscribe to this forum, it will be updated constantly. I will show images of my progress. Oh and I almost forgot! If you want to contribute to the project as a "game tester" or work on animations, please contact me. I will give you credit in my level once it is out there. Thanks and thats it.

I love sonic, been playing quite a bit of the old stuff lately, would like to see a solid 2D level with sprite action! I could offer some advice or aid within LBP if needed.2014-03-09 04:39:00

Only half right. they won't often MM pick copyrighted subject levels that LBP doesn't have a contract with. LBP has a contract with Sega which is why they are allowed to sell the Sonic costume DLC pack in the first place. *mew

He said he wanted to make semi-3D levels based after the game SonicLostWorld. Also in my opinion making 2D sprite Sonic levels in LBP is fairly pointless since LBP can't handle overly detailed sticker-panel levels very well unless you make it crazy simple. And LBP's physics system is wrong for a proper classic style Sonic game. Also PS3 LBP games FPS is capped at 30 which is not great for speed base games. If a fan really wants to make 2D sprite sonic fan levels then they would be better off doing it on PC using the Sonic-Worlds engine or some such thing. *mew

My suggestion is not to try to make more then a few levels. I've been around long enough to know that 95% of people never complete big long projects.

And I suggest against trying to make the levels overly close to the classic games for reasons I already explained. I also advise to just have the levels only be Inspired from SonicLostWorld. Don't try to 1:1 copy them. It really isn't possible in LBP to do that correctly anyways. *mew

Yeah, forget about classic Sonic, hes too hard to do... But ill still try to see if I can manage something... Lol. Also, let me clarify lol. Im not copying 1:1 the levels in the Wii U version. Im doing as much as I can according to level design, etc. its inspired by it, as you mentioned. And as for how many I will make, I will probably only make 2... One 2D, the other 3D- because making too many Lost World levels will fill up my planet lol. Thnx for the suggestions
