I like the colours and shapes, I think they look quite nice, the tones on the other hand make it look very flat. Maybe that's what you were going for I'm not sure, but using less pure black/white and more mid-tones instead would give the piece a bit more depth. At the moment it looks like a pattern, or texture, something that could be tiled as a background. There aren't any places for the eye to wander to and stay for a while. This is a graph of tonal levels in your artwork. Pure Black is on the left, pure white on the right and all the mid-tones in between. http://i875.photobucket.com/albums/ab311/SR20DETDOG/Other%20Junk/AbstractLevels_zps20535a2b.png You can see it's very flat across the entire range with a spike at both the black and white ends, leading to the lack of depth.

Art is defined by its location and creator and it's no longer about the quality of the work, this being said, I'd like everyone to do some finger painting, get rich and famous from it and then tell every modern day art critique that they're fired. Nothing wrong with a little curvy abstract, Rhino!

Nowadays, art is not about talent or skill. It's just about knowing the right people. I know people who are amazing artists but they are struggling to even get noticed......while some 4 year old out there is getting rich from her "incredible abstract art" (she was literally throwing paint on a wall and making things that any kid could make...this is real, google it)
