How can I hold all of these games :O I'm still playing DmC from the January thing :O

Anyway, big game for March for both NA and EU is Tomb Raider for PS3.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2014/02/27/preview-marchs-instant-game-collection/

Good thing I didn't but it a few weeks ago.

EU selection is pretty poor. I've owned all these games already. Seeing Lone Survivor in the US lineup annoys me, sice it's been on sale on EU PSN in Feb, so will likely be free in future. We get Brothers free in March, which is lovely considering THAT was on sale in Jan. ****** me off when they do this.2014-02-28 09:10:00

You should know not to buy anything incase it goes on + by now doubly so if it has been on in another region.

Huh? EU is better off than US...

It has become more balanced recently there's more games hitting both regions in the same timeframe and we have gone from 3 ps3 games per month down to 2.

Just had a go on the PS4 version of Dead Nation, some very nice little additions, I was trying out endless, it's really good. This is going to be fun in co-op. Much preferred to Outlast last month. I gave that a go, but I'm really not into horror, disgusting stuff and the game trying to disturb you as much as possible. Still have to give them points for offering variety. Don't Starve in January was rather brilliant I have to say.

Remember folks, even if you don't have a PS4 yet, you're still paying for these PS+ games, as you're on PS+ so you can add them to your pile. As long as you do that each month they will all be there waiting for you to download when / if you finally decide to get a PS4. Same goes for the Vita PS+ games. Just make sure you add them to your basket each month so you don't lose them.

Good point, I should do that. Can you still do that with the PS4 games if you log onto the store through the PS3.

No, it can't be done through the PS3 or the Vita, the best way is to go online to the SEN store.

Here's the link for the EU store:

Looks like another PS+ freebies-less month for me.

Have no interest in Sly Cooper, having never played the previous games... unless anyone who has played can convince me otherwise. Judging on the demo of PES 2014, I wouldn't wish that turd on my worst enemy.

Sly is a good game you should give it a try, part of the fun os PS+ is trying games you normally wouldn't be interested in.

The first two Sly games on the collection are very easy to platinum. The third requires work for the challenges, though.

But they are awesome. Get the collection, it's probably cheap now.

Beyond Good & Evil is worth full price if you ask me. It's a great game. Get it. BTW, what's a "quid?" Never mind. I'll just google it. Ah, about $1.66 US. Yes. Definitely worth that! Geez, I paid full price when it came out and still play it every now and then.

Also, the Sly Cooper series is great! Plus, it's free? Yeah, you always get free. I pick up nearly all the free Vita ones. I'm on Thomas was Alone, Unit 13 and Survivor Director's Cut now.

A "quid" is slang for a "pound". Just like how you guys say "buck" instead of "dollar".

Payday 2 is one of the few times I have no desire to download a game off +, Puppeteer I've been expecting since it flopped at retail but I thought they would save it for an annual title, Muramasa can take a wheneverly spot in the Vita backlog, golf can go near the back of the list and stick it is another thing to claim for my eventual PS4.2014-04-23 14:42:00

you only have 10 cars and you can only race in one country (which gives you access to 5 tracks with 11 distinct variants).

NBA would have been interesting as an I have no idea what I am doing game but grabbing 2k13 from an error last year has alrady provided that experiance.

Pixeljunk Shooter is another remaster of PS3 content I already own so minimal yay there but I hope it's cross-buy with the Vita Version.

Dragons Crown/Lone Survivor are two more that I know next to nothing about so yay for going in blind.

At least I have the consolation prize of the next three months of plus games being genuinely free.

It had mixed reviews when it came out. I tried the demo, and was on the fence about it. Don't think I know anyone who has actually bought the full game. I'm a bit short on games to play at the moment, after finishing and getting the platinum on Okami.

I own Fez on Steam but I still haven't tried it. I'm well aware of the great reviews it got and the in-game mysteries that someone eventually cracked....some puzzle wasn't it. I really just need to fire it up one day. Ten hours average playthrough seems a bit long for that game but why not just try it and see if I like it. Not a fan of puzzle games but the art style and colors looks fantastic.2014-07-30 19:14:00

To be honest I was a little interested in Proteus, but now that I've played it for 10 minutes through Plus, pretty much a waste of time. Fez looks like the real winner for me for this month. I actually had to look at a trophy guide to see what I was meant to be doing. You basically just wander around for a bit waiting for nighttime, then walk into the centre of the stone circle. Repeat a couple of times then the game ends.

Exactly, I had to look at the trophies too. It just confused me even more because they were gibberish. I'm all for games like this. My Hidden Objects levels are basically just pressing X while looking at the pictures. But if it's just walking around, there has to be something else going on. At least let me grab those annoying sounding animals.

Since my last post I like Fez even more. Though I did hit a bit of a wall. I need to get 32 Cubes now and it seems most of the cubes left are hidden pretty good. I hate looking stuff up on the internet, but I might have to.

I played the first Velocity game and it really was awesome. Takes a little bit to get used to the controls because it is super fast paced. Looking at the previews for the new Velocity, I think it's going to be even better.

I'm also excited for Playstation All Stars. I know I've seen it on sale for 5 or 10 bucks, but I've always figured it would be on ps plus. Never too interested in buying it.

The rest of the games I have no idea what they are. Hopefully good

Nothing for me. Oh well, got enough at the moment.

As for PSASBR, I do want them to try it again. Only this time, have more unlockables, a better single player, and more relevant characters. Also, have stamina based kills and have supers have all sorts of different affects. Also, get rid of the invasion stage thing, except for story mode.

Velocity 2x is quite good. I'd recommend it.

By the way folks, most of you will know that Driveclub (a watered down version at least) is coming to PS+ in October. But what you may not know is that it won't count as one of the usual monthly PS+ freebies - ie it will be an extra game.

Personally I loved PSASBR whenever it came down to gameplay and the control scheme. Yet the total lack of a single player campaign and the horrible lack of variety in multiplayer modes is what ultimately killed it. Yet, personally I have had more fun with it than in any other fighting game, even Smash Bros.

PS4. Dust A Elysian Tale, Spelunky, Pix the Cat

PS3: Batman Arkham Asylum, Dungeon & Dragons: Chronicles of Mistara, Spelunky

Vita: Rainbow Moon, Pix the Cat, Spelunky

---------------------------------------------

Terrible. They make up for Driveclub by giving us a load of **** and a 5 year old game, whose sequel we've already had on PS+!

Saw it on Neogaf. Should probably mention that this is a leaked list, not confirmed. I believe the official announcement is at about 5pm UK time.

Well I would take that as a doubtful unconfirmed rumor. Especially since arkum was already on plus.

Arkham City, not Arkham Asylum.

also, I'm assuming that that was the UK list, not the AMERICAN list?

Might be the same or very close, last 3 months have been 5/6 5/6 and 6/6 the same across the 2 regions.

The leak came from a Spanish site. Idk, might be true but it seems less than legit.

Drive down to my local Best Buy?

I wanted to wait at least till next year because I was still enjoying the PS3. Over the past couple of months, I've turned on my ps3 less and less. Maybe it is a good time to splurge on a ps4 Do you have one?

Spelunky is loads of fun! (http://www.pcgamer.com/game-of-the-year-2013-spelunky/)

I have it on Steam, but it looks like it would play better with a controller, I cant wait to play it!

And Binding of Isaac: Rebirth next month One of my most anticipated games of the year! I have the first one on Steam (it is often on sale for ?0.99!) and it is one of my most played games... 200+ hours...

With that coming out next month and Driveclub this month, I am pretty happy! I havnt really been interested in any PS+ game since Outlast.. so it will make a nice change

Yup. I have both. Still play my PS3, though currently it's pretty much just a Deadly Premonition machine.

Pretty decent month really.

Drive Club is a reasonable day one slice of a game I wouldn't normally buy.

Dust is something I'd always wanted to try if it ever came across so thats good times.

Spelunky everyone seems to love so I'll check it out.

Arkham is the only real dud for me here as I've already played it but I wouldn't mind if say every 6 months there was an older title.

D&D looks very Golden Axe/Streets of rage so that might be good.

Rainbow Moon so glad this is cross-but I didn't fancy doing a 100 hour rpg on the vita.

Pix the Cat will probably end up nearer the back of the to play list but it looks alright.

PS+ Games for next month:

Binding of Isaac: Rebirth (PS4/Vita)
SteamWorld Dig (PS4/Vita)
Frozen Synapse Prime (PS3/Vita?)
Luftrausers (PS3/Vita)
The Hungry Horde (Vita)
Escape Plan (PS4/Vita)

Now I'm not one of those people that says "omg lame indie games", but EXCLUSIVELY indie? *shakes head*

1. I have heard that you purchase PS+ with PSN Store credits? Is that right?
2. Does PS+ cross over PS3 and PS4? (And without too much fuss?)

Yes, you buy PS+ like you would a game
And yes, as long as you use the same account, it transfers between PS3, PS4 and Vita.

You have a few payment options, you can buy on the PS store with a debit/credit card or Paypal if it is available, you can buy PSN credit and use that to fund the purchase or buy it as a code. The latter options can work out as cheaper if you can find a place selling them at a lower price.2014-11-27 01:53:00

What does everyone make of the current batch of PS+ games? Played a bit of Transistor last night. Not usually my type of game, but it seems ok. Apotheon is ok, but it's crashed on me twice, which really pees me off, and makes me less eager to go back to it.2015-02-16 10:37:00

I played Apotheon and enjoy it quite a bit. I haven't tried Transistor yet but have it downloaded. I downloaded Rogue Legacy on Vita and played it for awhile then deleted it. I just got tired of dying every 10 minutes. I found the difficulty got too high too quick. I got Kick and Fennick on Vita as well and was enjoying it. Very pretty game. LOL, a little unbelievable though. Like, why would I use a gun to propel myself up when there are stairs right there! I got to a boss fight that just really frustrated me and I deleted it out of anger. I'll probably re-download it later.
Not a PS+ game but I got Rayman Legends from the Flash sale for 8.00 bucks I think it was. Totally worth it. I love this game!

I'm not gonna bother with Rogue Legacy either, for the same reasons. Apotheon was originally on PC wasn't it? Seems more tailored towards keyboard and mouse, than controller.

Apotheon is ok, only one crash for me in a 9 hour playthrough. There is a patch being worked on that'll make things better hopefully. Melee on the shoulder buttons is its biggest sin for me. Also there's a nice error in our favour if you want to skip a second playthrough on olympian difficulty.

Transistor is very short you quickly get to a point where you need to start figuring out how to combine abilities with each other to keep up with the increasingly difficult battles.

Rogue Legacy can be fun but there's a little too much grinding required to reach a point where your character and the enemies levels are balanced enough for you start making decent progress.

I havn't played Yakuza since the first one on PS2, should be fun hitting people with bikes and stuff for a few hours.

I wasn't too fussed about the thief demo on PS4 but I guess I can do a quick run through of the story.

Kick and Fennik is another vita game that'll get played whenever.

Bonus last month.

Prototype 2 another edition of joining a story in progress and not really caring about what is going on.

The Swapper was a neat little puzzle game.

My DuckTales nostalgia is not for the version of the game this remaster is based on but it's still good.

It was nice going back to Duke 3D after all these years although I'm glad we moved away from key card hunting.

First Light I got a physical copy for christmas so I'll use that version when I get around to playing it.

Woah Dave was a very rare case of not claming a + game because it looked bad and would just end up in the downloads list forever.

It crashed yesterday for me, when I had just cleansed the sanctuary.

I've never played a Yakuza game, they look a bit weird, and very (for lack of a better word) Japanese-y. Might give it a go if I get the chance.

The Swapper was a neat little puzzle game.

Did you manage to complete all the puzzles without using a walkthrough? I struggled on 2 or 3, but managed most on my own.

Played a bit of it. Played through the Amazon mission, got to the boss, died because I'm an idiot, haven't played it since.

It's probably going to be my next game played (got to finish that trophy list alphabet) I might bring in a follow up post on how much side stuff is needed for getting through the game.

Most on my own, I gave it a 10 minute rule before hints could get involved.

I'm enjoying Rogue Legacy the best. Yes, I die frequently, but I enjoy the upgrade system. Even if I die, it doesnt feel like a wasted effort because I usually will be able to upgrade my character by collecting enough coins. It always feels like I'm making progress even though I'm basically starting from 0 gold every time I play again. That's why I hated Spleunky (past ps plus game). I'm starting over with nothing to show for it. I didnt get it. It was way harder.

Transistor is very pretty and I enjoy the voiceover work. However, the gameplay isn't really my style. I don't know if I will continue playing.

Apotheon is mildy fun. I can't play for more than 20 minutes without getting bored though, which isn't good.

On a side note, I just got little big planet 3 from the flash sale for 24 dollars. I'm excited.

Yakuza 4 its definitly "Japanese-y" but the main story path is mostly devoid of weirdness. You do get some forced hostess stuff in the first characters story but thats just the typical game thing of using a main mission to give side content an introduction. Most of the time you'll be involved in tedious melee combat.

Next up Thief.

Also Apotheon got a patch.

Patch fixes some technical problems and lets you get the 2 trophies that wouldn't pop.

The scores shouldn't affect The Orders PS+ prospects, the top rated content stuff seems to be worded to mean something every month wil be over the score threshold but it doesn't have to be all 6,

Rogue Legacy is pretty fun once you get the hang of how all of the classes are supposed to play. Rushing through it with the hokage in what is basically a bullet hell in New Game++ is a blast. Even though the familial lineage is interesting, I wish they didn't throw in so much garbage as it just makes the game artificially difficult (also the special class is terrible when you unlock it). It is very grindy initially and eventually gets trivially easy, but the difficulty increases with each completion at a satisfying enough rate.

I completely lost interest in Kick and Fennick around the second chapter. It was already a bit too clunky and simplistic, but the mega boosts killed it for me. They aren't hard, but not being able to see what I'm doing because I'm launching off screen is a bit obnoxious.

Apotheon seems pretty cool from the first 30 minutes I've played of it. The trigger melee is a bit annoying, but it feels satisfying to control and the art style is great. I've yet to play much Transistor, but I have high hopes.

I can understand them not releasing God of War in those countries, but why not Sound Sapes? Huh.

No games for me but I've got enough to play so eh

Sound Shapes was already on PS+ there subbing for Outlast.

Stealth Inc 2 is the only one I'm interested in, really. Played Limbo on PS3, played GoW: A, not bothered about coop so Temple of Osiris is a no-go, already own Sound Shapes. At least I still have Rocket League. 2015-07-30 09:35:00

We'll soon be able to vote on which ps+ game we want.

From a pre chosen selection of course. So we can't vote for Fallout 4 this November. Aw.

God of War Ascension is a solid but unnecessary prequel the bigest things going agains it as a download are the big file size and even bigger space needed on ps3 thanks to the stupid way it does installs.

Sound Shapes is a good blend of music and platforming ideal for playing in short bursts.

Limbo is a great puzzle platformer well worth a run through and not too long.

Same here, but my biggest argument against buying it was that I thought it looked like a level someone could've easily created in LBP.

BTW, did anyone try Teslagrad? Probably one of the most frustrating games I've played in recent years....

Yeah I know its a weird way to describe it but to me it felt like one of those games that you have to fight with just to make progress.

Yeah. I got up to the final (?) boss. Tried it a few times up until the spinning blades come out of the floor, and then just gave up. Haven't touched it since. Thing is, it looks like the platinum is really easy, so I'm tempted to endure it again for that reason alone.

Fortunatly it is one of those games that you don't have to complete to plat although I think some scrolls are hard to reach.

Nothing for me. ME2 and Beyond Good and Evil have been on offer loads of times, it's hardly worth it. I'm not gonna complain too much though, I have enough games to play!2015-10-30 21:40:00

Walking Dead is my ideal pricepoint for a Tellale game. Magika I'll give a try. Dragon Fin Soup is invoking 90''s nostalgia with its cutscenes you wish the game looked like. Mass Effet 2 is the joy of playing story heavy games in the wrong order. BG&E I bought in a sale years ago It has not aged well. Invizimals can get stuffed if it is the psp game.

I've noticed the PS3 and Vita are receivibg less focus now, their games are no longer in the videos and don't get a full description on the blog.

I'll give Helldivers a try. It seems like a good co-op game with a friend. It also seems very hard, so I hope that doesn't ruin it for me. I'm not much into fighting games, but I do like the Persona Series. I'll give that a try too, though I haven't turned my Ps3 on in a year. I really like the characters in that game.2016-01-29 22:59:00

I actually enjoyed playing GRID Autosport the last few days. The general lack of split screen games (total lack if we consider racing games) on PS4 is really bugging me, and it's kinda surprising to see how just three or four races against my brother on GRID have been more fun than hours spent playing Driveclub, both online races or offline tours.2016-02-09 12:47:00

Yup, another poor selection. Both PS4 games are retro-inspired shoot-a-thons, albeit one is jumpy jumpy, and the other is fly-y boosty. Still reeks of lack of variety. However, I might actually give these games a go.2016-02-24 17:12:00

Not the worst month in the world. Will definitely play Gone Home, and I'm half tempted by NBA 2k16, despite my lack of interest in the sport. Echochrome looks like a decent puzzler, but Siren is 2spooky4me.2016-06-01 10:16:00
