Dark Earth Chapter One alpha

Hey hey all the good people! I decided to release first chapter of my third original series. Due to extreme overheat it's full of some minor and some major bugs and I?m not able to remove them from variety of reasons. So that?s why I release it as alpha version. To be honest, the level is also not as good as I imagine it will be at the start of creating. But still I think it's one of those better levels and it's worth playing. So I?ll be really happy if you look at it. Thank you very very much and have fun!

I couldn't get past the first scene. The character is frozen in fright and I have no control other than popit controls. The opening looked really good though.2014-02-22 01:34:00

Apparently this scope of epic requires a sub-title to have a sub-title.

just replayed it and Wow! I can't beat it, but wow! so atmospheric and man, have to say, the first encounter made me jump! Love the effect when you kill them. Awesome job. Just wish they'd give me half a chance to get by.2014-02-23 23:52:00

I?m really glad you like it people. Bio, maybe I should lower the difficulty, but some people say they feel almost invincible with flashlight, laser, meele and gun with infinite ammo, so I don't know...2014-02-25 15:56:00

I think it's the reloading of the gun that gets me. Man, those dudes just come out too fast for me. Maybe only have a set number come out so that once I kill those and move past, If I die, I don't have to keep killing the same dudes over and over again.2014-02-25 17:25:00

Bio: Funny is that one of the last things I decided to change before publishing the level was lowering the reload time :-D Anyway, you?re right with the number of enemies, I?ll look at it and try to do something with it. It's because when you play the scene hundreds times in editor it just feels very easy after some time and it's hard to estimate the difficulty for first time players.

First of all, the opening cutscene was amazing! One of the most visually impressive things I've seen in LBP, and I love the seamless transition into gameplay. The rest of the level looks just as good and fighting the zombies(?) is awesome. The gun mechanic is great, once you get used to the controls I know this is only an alpha but one thing I would suggest is that you make it a bit more obvious when you're supposed to shoot objects, like to knock the platform down at the end - I was running around down there shooting zombies for a while before I noticed the string and tried to break it.

Sorry to hear about the overheating problems and I hope you can sort them out because I'd love to see more of this. And congrats on the spotlight! I should have a video of the level up on my channel at the weekend

Hey Cog! Thanks for awesome review! I absolutely agree with you about recognition of "objectives". I should do something with that, but in order to do so, I have to delete something first to gain some thermo . And I don't know what :-D There are tons of tacky things like meele system, checkpoint system etc. and I can?t do much about it all due to thermo. That?s simply " AAaaaghrrrr!!!" :-D
