Glass Palace v1.0

Archive: 5 posts

I would really like some feedback for a level I am continuing to work on.

Name: Glass Palace Version 1.0
Author: Kaseyater19

Give me some ideas and suggestions and I'll do the same for you

Details: On this level, you have three rooms, the green room: If you bring the key here you get points and prizes, also contains a checkpoint. Blue room: Contains puzzles you must solve in order to get the key through to the green room. Red Room: Similar to the blue room, but you fight bosses, or mini-bosses.

I just played this game (my son played it last night) and I liked it a lot!

PROS:

Really unique design. I liked the use of glass, as well as the way you stickered them up. Kind of a quirky quality about it.

Some nice puzzles. I especially liked the area where you need to find your way around the glass wall to get to the button.

CONS:

When I was trying to solve the puzzle where you move different key sponges to the different levels my sponge got stuck and broke.... Not exactly sure what you would do with this, but it happened

All-in-all I have to applaud. You did something different. I really like playing something unique.

I love puzzle based levels. Yours starts light on the puzzles and builds into some decent brain games near the end. I like the theme with the colored glass. The limited light combined with your decorations gave it a groovy feel - like some crazy antique shop you shouldn't be in, but are proud you survived. Seriously.

As for suggestions... First thing that I'd do would be to make the magic mouths and music items invisible. Also, in the blue room with the sliding electric panels, I'd make the hole bigger because I managed to get the green block over without dealing with that puzzle. Lastly, I wonder if you've thought about putting the whole thing up off the ground and maybe making it look less disconnected? While I like the current look, that seems like it'd take things to another level.

Cool stuff dude. Also, I'm #1!

Would love it if you checked out my level 4. She's a Rainbow (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=6185) and left feedback.

Hi. Just finished your level.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

+ I love the fact that you do a kind of "training" at the start to get the hang of the mechanics of the level.

+ Unique concept.

+ It gets harder as you advance.

+ I'd like to see more challenging stuff like the last parts of the level.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

- A bit too easy.

- The part with the elevator, one of the sponges broke and I had to restart the level.

- The part with a glass in the front layer. I just jumped the gap while grabbing the sponge and did not pressed the button.

- Hide your magic mouths, magnetic keys and audio objects.

- The last part with the fog below the elevator. I dropped the sponge on the left side of the platform, and got the prize for the previous puzzle! You should prevent that sponge from dropping to the left.

- While I like the simple look for this kind of level, the visuals are a bit repetitive in general.

I'll return later to see what you changed since you are still working on it. If you have some time, I'm also looking for some feedback on a level I published this week-end, "Left Behind Part.2". The link is in my signature.

Thanks!
