Could you, would you animate a dog for me, please?

Hello there, I'm working on a project that requires dogs running towards some "meat", lowering their heads & ripping into it, or something very close to that & it must look very realistic; it'll be in a shot with the camera set pretty far away and I'm likely going to have it in silhouette just to hide things a bit more but I'd still like it to have very natural movements, nothing stiff & lifeless. I'd like to do this myself but I have zero confidence that I'll be able to pull it off.

If anyone has any interest in working on this & thinks they can do a good job at it please message me through psn at "apecheese". Thanks!

Try finding a film strip of a movie/scene/show/etc with dogs ripping into, and take 1snap with the camera every 3 frames or so . Lbp runs at 30 frames/sec. But u can successfully run an animation at 10 f/s.

heck, it might look good at 3 frames(shots)/sec

That sounds like a good idea, I still don't have any confidence in myself to do it well but at least it gives me a plan. All the same, if anyone wants to help me with this, I'll owe you a life debt!

Couldn't you animate at 15 fps if you used a not gate wired to itself to signal your frame change?

yes, but that = more thermo being wasted, there was a great sonic animation made back in the day

Hi Apecheese,
Hmmm....interesting concept. May I ask, what is the meat in question? just meat on the ground, or a body or an animal?
Doing it in silhouette is the best idea. Just you gotta consider the EULA and no blood or guts or extreme graphic violence... just saying, that's something to be aware of.
Also, do you have sticker panel and a good few dlc packs.

Well, I don't think I'm doing the dogs anymore, the dogs might've been the least complicated part of the whole segment, as Sean suggested, the dogs were going to run up to bodies laying on the floor & start to tear into them & eat them, it wouldn't have gotten graphic, just maybe into some tugging & pulling at the bodies, but no blood & guts, these sackthings are all made up of cloth & stuffing anyway. Aside from getting all that done I couldn't get my head around how to get the victims forced down, have their arms & legs pinioned to the ground and have them squirm around without their arms/legs moving out of place while the dogs bit into them, all on camera. Even if I could've done something close to that I don't think I would've been happy with how it looked in the end, so, I'm going with plan B which is a less gruesome death, but dead is dead and I can do it all on screen without shortchanging myself.2014-02-23 19:26:00
