I'm excited. I had no idea this was gonna be made. I'm a huge fan of the series.

However I am not a huge fan of the more real art style they are going with here. I never get what is with most movie companies nowadays and their dislike of cartoon styles. To me one of the best aspects of the sly series is it's cartoon/comic style. But in it's own right this movie style is good. Just not what I'd prefer. Regardless I can't wait to see this. *mew

first ratchet and now sly? hopefully that measn we'll see a jak soon too, that series always had the best story, honestly other than the profit I don't see why this or the ratchet film really exsist, niether series story ever felt even close to film worthy. maybe we'll get a sony platformer avengers movie at some point hey 2014-01-28 19:21:00

I love the visual style of the Sly games, rather disappointed about the 3D "real" style of animation.
More importably though, why is Sly suddenly wearing pants? It's a matter of tradition that great cartoon animal heroes (like Robin Hood) don't need to wear pants - they've got fur, so it's not rude.

You gotta be joking. These games make perfect movies. And who doesn't want to see movies of their favorite series as long it is well made? Also for me Jak was the least interesting game of these 3 different series. *mew

I honestly don't get the complain about the designs, sure they don't follow the game designs at all and yes Sly is wearing pants but really come on it isn't that bad. Plus ask yourself besides true Sly fans, who would got to a 2D movie these days? I honestly know no one who would, which might be sad yes but because of that they have to think of how they can make a movie that the fans will like but also people who probably don't even know who Sly is will go to as well. So real 3D animation is the logical choice. Plus Sly wearing pants could be so that the movie is allowed in all countries because there are some countries that won't allow movies or shows if a character isn't wearing pants. Can't remember which country but a country doesn't allowed Mickey Mouse and friends in their country because Donald Duck doesn't wear pants. I for one don't mind the pants or the new design really, sure it isn't the game in that respect but the rest still could be, you never know.2014-01-29 01:40:00

Nobody is saying they wanted the movie 2D. The games are 3D anyways. What people are complaining about is that it's not the same 3D-comic-style they use in the games. Plus I have no idea what you mean by nobody would go to a 2D animation movie. Depending on what movie it is I would and so would many other 2D animation fans too. (Which is a lot of people) It's absurd to say nobody would watch a 2D animation movie. *mew

Agreed. Having a saturday morning cartoon adaptation of Sly that follows the same style of Sanzaru's cutscenes from Thieves in Time would be great as well.

I find the designs very cringeworthy. Every time I look at the character designs, I just wonder what went through their heads when designing them. They look very ugly.2014-01-29 02:26:00

Being a huge fan of the series, I have mixed opinions on this. I think it looks funny, and that it'll be good nontheless, but the character models look god-awful compared to the games, and I won't be able to get over hearing some other than Kevin Miller's voice for sly.2014-01-29 03:37:00

It's from the same people who made Escape From Planet Earth.

I hope they don't screw up again.

I wonder whether I should be excited or not. On one hand, it's Sly. On the other hand, we don't know the director of the movie, so it could very well end up being a piece of garbage.2014-02-01 14:55:00
